You're probably eating too many calories.
Many vegetarians think giving up meat and other animal products is a free license to eat anything they want and however much of it they want. But a calorie is a calorie, whether it comes from sirloin steak, a bowl of oatmeal, or soy cheese.
If you still eat eggs, cheese, and milk, you're still probably getting a lot of calories from those. Lactoovovegans tend to eat a lot of cheese. You might also be eating a lot of peanut butter or other nuts. This is probably because vegetarians often lack sufficiant high-quality proteins and healthy fats. The body knows what it needs and you can't fool it, but those nuts and nut butters can really pack in the calories.
Lack of exercise could also be contributing to your weight gain. Strangely, other vegetarians think that going vegan is also an excuse to stop exercising. . .
Get a notebook and start counting your calories. Don't restrict your calories just yet. Just eat and record for a week. Then average it out. That's your average calorie intake for a day. Cut out 500 calories (or 300, though weight loss will be slower) and you'll start losing weight. Start exercising, too, and do remember that exercise isn't an excuse to eat whatever, whenever you want.
Good luck!

You did what most vegans do, you loaded up on carbs & fats which made you fat and didn't eat enough protein and veggies.
A balanced vegan diet will actually help you to lose weight, but notice the balanced part. When people go vegan, they have a tendency to eat a lot of pasta and this is the worst thing they can be doing. Sure, it's animal free but you're taking in a huge amount of carbs during this time. Too many carbs means that a lot of them get turned into fat.

Sounds like you are starving your self. In which case, your body will shut part of itself down, to restrict your doing simply that. I endorse you return to eating regularly - breakfast - viable mid morning snack - lunch - snack - dinner - and a snack earlier than bedtime. Appear at one of the vital diets planned for these with diabetes - variety 2 (which is what i have).. But do not go below 1200 energy! EVER!! 1500 energy is excellent.. What you do must do is come to be more bodily - discover a gymnasium and work out, or get into some sort of coaching. Revel in what you are doing.. Now that it seems as if your physique has begun to close down - trying to avoid wasting itself from starving - it is going to take a bit longer for you to begin to peer any weight reduction.. However luv, eat healthful, be lively.. And start to enjoy your existence! The load may just start to come off naturally.. Are attempting swimming at your regional YMCA.. Do a few of their pastime packages with water.. Less difficult for your muscular tissues, however oh so amazing!

That's pretty funny (sorry!)
I've known a lot of vegetarians who eat crap! I think if your body is starving for certain things, you go into hunger mode and eat every junk in sight!
You have to really know what you are doing in order to be a vegetarian! Otherwise you can make yourself very sick!
You can't just one day stop eating meat and not expect it to affect your health. Plus you really have to take a multivitamin supplement with Vitamind B-12 or you can die! (That is if you're Vegan).

You are eating less protein than you used to. Since protein takes longer to digest and makes you feel full faster you ate more food. This doesn't mean you have to eat meat but eat food high in protein like eggs(if you aren't vegan), legumes, beans.

being a vegetarian is not guaranteed to make you healthy. if there is a caloric excess in the diet with an insufficient level of daily exercise weight gain will occur.

Since you have stopped eating meat, it is more likely that you've been eating more starches, in replace of meat. Eat more veggies, and occasionally have starches.
