There's no more reason to think that those stories included in the New Testament are "revealed" than that my great-grandmother's snickerdoodle recipe was "revealed."

Unbelief has been the sin of man from the beginning and obviously continues today. Religion doesn't fall apart because people don't understand but rather grows when those who don't understand realize the errors of their way.

No our religion does not fall apart at all. We walk by faith, not by sight. You are free to believe or disbelieve whatever you wish. Will you grant that right to others?
