Fellow atheists, are we wasting time trying to convince the people on here when we should be getting out towns to build an actual healthy support structure so we can rid the town of churches? Should we focus on getting atheists into public office to make real leadership decisions?

I think that trying to convince them one at a time on here is like trying to get rid of fleas on a dog one at a time, when all we need to do is get rid of the dog itself.

edit: it's not the sheep on here we need to worry about, it's the ones in public office that are silently ruining the country and dismantling freedom.

Well here is how I look at it. We should make every effort to have more Atheists in public office and continue to fight for our right to not have religion forced onto us. Furthermore we must continue to stand up for our right to voice our opinions and make sure that our rights are not violated just because we do not believe in god and do not accept religion. It is sad when most places in the United States still discriminates against us. We need to take a stand against that.

If someone is curious about Atheism then we should give them the information; however, we should not shove it into people's faces because we would be no better than the religious people who do just that.

So yes we must focus on getting more Atheists in to public office as well as make sure that we are not discriminated against simply for being an Atheist.

I don't think reading and answering questions is wasted time nor do I want to convert Theists to Atheists. If they want to believe and don't threaten me then I'm alright with it. However, I have considered being a door-to-door Atheist just to see how they would like it. I wonder if people would protest me...
