Nothing like Confession and the Eucharist to put a spring back in your step! Anybody else feel this way after Mass this morning?
God bless you and Merry Christmas!

God bless you Captain: overcoming sin is work, it takes time and effort; confession is not a free ticket to do what you want.

God bless ALL the responders: my question was for Catholics but what I got was a mix of friendly/not friendly answers from non-Catholics. God bless you anyway because we're brothers and sisters in Christ :D! Merry Christmas!

Yes, God bless you too. My teacher and also the principle of my middle school has been in prison for more than 40 years. He never changes his faith in Christ. Until he was 92 was set free and went to USA. Now God recalled him back. Pray for me and for my family. Amen From Mingming.

Danny, I don't do 'Confession' and the 'Eucharist' 'cause I'm not a Catholic (although my mother in law is and she's a lovely woman and I've been to her church). I do confess, (in prayer, and privately) and I do take the wine and the bread to remember what Jesus did for us (although I cannot accept the Catholic teaching that the wine and the bread is transmuted into the actual blood and body of Christ). I hope you won't hold that against me.
Neither do I believe that Jesus was born on 25 December. However, I do believe in Jesus, and him resurrected, and I bless the day I became a Christian (2 June, 1996).
God bless each and every one of you, and may the gospel message of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, bring us together in Christian unity and peace.

Going to Mass and receiving our Lord in the Eucharist is always wonderful, isn't it? I'm a convert, and if anyone had told me in my pre-conversion days that I'd look forward to going to church, I would have laughed at them. But now I can hardly wait to get to church and go to Mass.
And the feeling after the sacrament of Confession is indescribable. The closest analogy I can come up with is that it's like you've spent all day out in the cold and you come in muddy and chilled to the bone. You step into a hot shower, and all the cold and dirt are washed away. You step out feeling like a new person.
God bless you, too, and have a very merry Christmas!

I am a Catholic converted to Protestantism. But I do understand. When I confess to my God and receive communion in fellowship with the Church, I do feel pretty darn good.
And to the person talking about what I do all week and wipe it away on Sunday - I do the best I can everyday - I do an inventory everyday - and ask for forgiveness. Try to have a little tolerance and understanding. At least tolerance. Not everyone lives as you suggest.

I have to agree! And being a part of the Liturgical Ministry (Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Studying to be a Deacon) I find it especially rewarding. The sacrament of Reconciliation has brought me to tears before and being able to receive the Eucharist after wards is so glorious. Unfortunately we are snowed in here and cannot get out to have gone to mass this morning. We honestly tried though. Being an "over middle age" couple it's very difficult to get this much snow out of our way even with a snow blower. Fortunately we get help often from those in the Parrish to get us dug out.

YES! After Confession, I love the feeling of not having to carry the burden of sin on my shoulders, at least for a little while.
And, ever so often, I do experience a "charge" when receiveing Communion. It's truly amazing.

Cheers, Danny! I'm not Catholic so I cannot answer your question but I feel your sentiment and think it's great to see someone come from their worship feeling joy, not dread. Thank you for expressing your joy in your worship.
God bless you and Merry Christmas to you, as well!

Happy for you Danny. Church was cancelled here because of the snow storm. We do not have the same beliefs, Eucharist (transubstantiaton), confession to priests, etc., but you are serving God to the best of your ability and in sincerity and I admire that. God bless you and Merry Christmas to you, too!!
