Can you think of anything so terrible in your ife that you have done that would require a god to sacrifice his only "son" to save you from "HELL"?
Let's see.....
I ate shrimp.
I had sex without marriage
Oh my, I even had a baby out of wedlock.
I speed on the highway sometimes.
I have smoked pot
I have on a cotton blouse and silk pants.
I am divorced.
I have never physically hurt another person.
I have never intentionally hurt an animal, except I do squash cockroaches, this is Texas for god's sake.
I have stolen when I was younger but I am not an evil thief. I don't think when I shoplifted those earring when I was 12 someone should have to die for me to go to 'heaven".
I have never been with a woman sexually because I was BORN attracted to men. So Jesus did not have to die because I am gay.
So please tell me, this imperfect woman, what in my life made Jesus' death necessary?
Can that be answered and explained without bible scripture

Hmm. Sex - check. Divorce - check. Speeding - check. Pot - check (hey, it was the 70's). My list is not identical to yours, but has several of the same items and, on the whole, I think is pretty comparable. I have been specifically told on a few occasions that I should look forward to going to Hell, because of specific things that I have done. I have even had a few people invite me to go there. So maybe I should buy some asbestos underwear.
Shrimp? I'm not supposed to eat shrimp? I'm doomed for sure! Definitely better get that asbestos underwear.
So what do I think? It would be easier to follow the crowd. It would be easier to allow some leader somewhere to tell me how to live. But that is not ever going to be authentic for me. I think that I will continue to try to live my life as I believe I should.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.

I'm Jewish and I still don't get it...JESUS was a JEW...did all christians miss that? A JEW!!!! Ever read about Jesus collecting money from his followers? No? So why give any preacher your money? The church is a big tax free money maker for tons of people...I wish my biz ran tax free...What really makes no sense is when christians kill in the name of jesus to spread his love and forgiveness? The whole concept and practice of christianity makes no sense as its one contradiction after another...christ was a teacher who broke the jewish law and paid the price with his life - was the punishment befitting the crime - hard to tell - he was a criminal that broke the law...either people can accept that and move on or not...I will not believe for one second the claim that he died for mine or anyones sins...he died because what he did what was not legal...open your eyes and read the bible...this isnt my opinion but the words from the bible...

Actually, that Biblical story is not true. Even the birth of Jesus comes from stories of other "virgin" births and "gods" in centuries before the "Jesus story". Nothing is really sin unless we intentionally hurt someone...but even that really isn't "sin". Our souls aren't yet perfected so of course we are still making mistakes that we will try to improve on in our next life. Unwed sex is perfectly acceptable and was even expected in the beginning of time when souls first began entering bodies on Earth...yet they were still strongly connected to God. This was about 100 million years ago when Atlantis and Lemuria were the most advanced continents.

I totally agree, its stupid to believe that a supposedly "all-powerful" god was incapable of forgiving "sins". and on top of that all these christians dont even pause to think on the fact that their beliefs are all founded on human sacrifice, and if you get deeper god sacrifice.
its utterly nonsensical to call a god all-loving, all-forgiving, and all-merciful, Yet he cannot forgivre you unless you swim in his sons blood and then at different intervals drink his blood and eat his flesh.
and now we have so many different denominations saying that cant agree. hell you go to one church they will tell you that thier beliefs are the only right ones, but you go two miles up the road to a different church and you hear that those other christians are wrong and that this new church's beliefs are the only way to heaven.
its utterly implausible, but it doesnt matter, there is no reasoning with people that refuse to use reason.

The hell you write ?! Well personally I will rejoice when the day happens that the lies of the Vatican that started all the crapola will end. Any Christian church or belief is a spin of the same old stuff. It is just a cruel bastardized version of a false gnosis.

Well the whole thing is insane. Of course no one should have to die or you because you stole ear rings when you were twelve. The very idea is awful.

His death is necessary in case you decide to join the Christian's team. So i guess in a sense he dies every time someone is converted?

I never asked, nor instructed anybody to die for me directly or indirectly. So if the religionists out there feel that their little deity
did anything for me,well, they would be completely incorrect.
