Bartenders each add thier own secret to this, but the basic is V8 or plain tommato juice, usually a large can to a decanter, add horseradish if you like a kick, along with hot sauce, celery seeds, lemmon juice, vodka to your taste, and mix well. Garnish with a whole celery stick. Note, the horseradish adds a distintive flavor, and if you want it a bit salty? Add just a bit of salt. The celery will be a bit salty as will the tommato juice, so taste before you add.

Double vodka, preferably Smirnoff or other good quality vodka, about 4 measures of tomato juice, a few dashes of worcestershire sauce, a couple of drops of tabasco sauce, pinch of cayenne pepper, pinch of celery salt, dash of lemon juice. Combine all in a shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake! Strain into a glass and drink!
This is my fave receipe anyway, as I need it quite spicy to take the emphasis off the fact that the vodka waters down the tomato juice a bit.

The perfect Bloody Mary should be made in a tall glass with ice...1 and 1/2 oz. of Vodka, 2 dashes of worcheshire, 3 drops of Tabasco,1/8oz. lime juice, salt and pepper, and then filled with tomato juice. Then "in and out" it to mix (poured into one glass and back into another) and garnished with a stalk of celery. If you do not have celery then add a dash of celery salt before you in and out it.

My version is as follows:
Large wine goblet, into that one measure of chilli vodka, and a splash of dry sherry. Add to that a pinch of celery salt and then the tomato juice to 3/4 full. Then add tabasco and Worcester sauce, and mix through, add ice.
To finish, drizzle some more dry sherry round the top, squeeze fresh lemon and fresh lime, with a grating of fresh horseradish, salt and black pepper.
Garnish with slice lemon, slice of lime and stick of celery.

Vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and ice. Replace celery/seasoning/spice with more vodka. Oh, and a swizzle stick with silly tinsel hanging off the end.
