From the breeder.
***People....pit bulls are NOT an AKC breed, so I highly doubt he will be getting them in any way shape or forum!!!
If the breeder registered the sire, dam , and litter with another registry, you would get the "papers" from them. Chances are, the pup was NOT registered.

Actually the American Pit Bull Terrier is a UKC breed. So if the parents are registered with the UKC then the breeder should have registered the litter and should have given you the papers unless the terms of sale required you do have the dog neutered or sometihng else first. However most so called "pitbulls" are actually mixes and there are no papers.
BTW UKC papers are only accepted by the UKC and not any other kennel club in the world. The only accepted kennel club in the USA is the AKC.

What kind of papers are you looking for???
American Pit Bull Terriers (APBT) can be registered with the
www.UKCdogs.com United Kennel Club
www.napbta.com National American Pit Bull Terrier Assoc.
www.aapba.com All American PIt bull Association
www.adba.cc American Dog Breeders Association
These registeries are similar to the AKC but on a much smaller scale and run on their own guide lines and regulations.
They host events and competitions just the same.

You should have gotten them from the breeder when you purchased your pup. You then will register the pup under your name with the AKC. With or without papers, I'm sure you love your puppy so unless you plan on breeding for money I wouldnt worry about it.

You must get them from the breeder. If the breeder did not provide you with them or pulled one of those "I'll mail them to you" scams, you just won't get them.
If your breeder won't give you the papers, then just love your puppy the way he/she is, papers or not!
PS. Do you mean american staffordshire terrier? Pitbull isn't a breed, but many people get am staffs confused with the term "pitbull".

Only way is if both the sire and dam were AKC registered and you can prove it.
AKC is the ONLY legitimate registration in the U.S., the others are fake puppy mill and byb cons.
