Recently I have been getting a lot closer with a guy a know, he's seriously the sweetest guy I have ever known. He's kinda nerdy and girls tend to stay away from him, but he's so sweet and funny that I can overlook what others run from. But... I think that's been my downfall... and its getting pretty obvious that he's falling for me, but all I want is a good friend (something I've been lacking for a long time)... I want to tell him I don't feel the same way... but the truth is, I'm scared of losing him as a friend. I know it's selfish.. and that I might just be leading him on by talking to him.... but all I've genuinely wanted was a friend from him.. so what do I do?

My wife is My best friend and has been for 45 years.
Before he can be a husband he has to be a best friend. You may not get butterflies when you look at him but just remember when those would be Jocks are working construction for ten bucks an hour this nerdy guy will probably be pulling down a hundred grand a year starting salary for some firm in electronics or other high tech jobs. I would be encouraging him to get all the education he can in his chosen field an be right there to support him even if I had to hold down two jobs. Love is pretty much blind to ones faults If it isn't you probably aren't in love. Wait and see if something grows. After all the guy isn't pushing you to sleep with him or anything like that (I hope). I definitely wouldn't do that till the guy, your nerdy guy or any other guy says I Do and signs on the dotted line.

First of all, before you do anything, ask yourself this question.
Actually i have a question for you? How do know ur friend has a crush on you? Are you 100% that he likes you in a different way, did he say he likes you or ur assuming that he likes you.
Maybe he's just being friendly in such way, ur automatically thinking he's into you. If you have no clue, It will be even more awkward if confronted!! Do little more thinking before confronthing him!! Good luck, Oh yeah Just be honest thats the best thing to do!!

just because he's kinda nerdy and other girls stay away, doesn't mean you should. it's amazing how attractive some guys become once you see them going out with someone else.

so figure out how you really feel before you make your move. don't lead him on but don't shoot him down. if you feel like your dancing around the issue, he's feeling it too. Just communicate your take on it and what you're feeling.

then give him a big hug and tell him how much his friendship means to you!

Tough one! It depends on how mature he is and what his feeling are for you. The friend thing is hard for young men to do if they are really attracted to you physically.

You have to sit down and have a serious talk, let each other know exactly where you both stand, and hope for the best!

If you don't like him as a boyfriend, please don't lead him on, it will eventually break his heart. You need to tell him how you truly feel about your relationship, about how you only see him as a friend and if he really loved you he would stay along with you. But just give him a chance because who know's maybe he is everything you are looking for.

Put it to him gently that you just want to be his friend and don't want your friendship to be ruined cuz you don't feel the same way he does. Not saying anything to him isn't going to make the situation better, he needs to know how you feel. If he's really your friend he will respect the way you feel and your honesty, and not let this come between you as friends.

You need to be honest with him before it goes to far. Either you want more or you don't. Don't string him along cause that is not what you would want someone to do to you.... Good Luck. If he is a true friend, he will understand

You certainly sound like you're falling for him too. Are you sure you're not?
I think you need to reassess the situation and go from there. Have you been sending mixed messages?

you seem like a really sweet girl,so you can tell him in a sweet way.Just go somewhere alone and say that "your not looking for a relation ship with him just a Strong friend ship and see where it goes from there." then give him a big reassuring hug,lol

Start asking his advice, "since you're such a good friend" about other guys. " Do you tihnk Pete likes me? How can I get him to notice me?" stuff like that. He'll figure out you're not interested in him as a BF, only a friend. If you have to put that in words (let's just be friends), you WON'T ever be friends again, so avoid saying it.
