What if you can never get over them?

We are still friends & I can't let him go. We don't live in the same country anyway but we communicate online.

You never forget your first love. I guess one never forgets any of there loves they had. But as time goes on it gets fainter. When you find the right person you will love them so much the rest will not madder. But you will never forget the good times you had with them. So move on and look forward. The love you are looking for is out there. Be careful not to take the first person to come along. You pick who you want . Don't let them pick you.You have a long life in front of you. Use it well.

Sounds like somebody watched "The Notebook" last night.

It's possible to feel deep feelings of longing for the way you felt with your first love, but usually (not always) that first passion fades over time.

People change, life changes, and hanging onto an old relationship that was right at one time but isn't now is unhealthy.

Yes of course it is. You never had the chance to really move on.

I dont think you can get over your first love, deep down. Maybe you can after years and years after finding the right guy you want to spend the rest of your life with.

ooh yea its possible. i am dating this guy and i really do love him. well my previous boyfriend we were together almost a year the 2 times we dated. i really cared about him, i would honestly say i really did love him. we broke up 6 months ago and i still have a little bit of feelings for him now. i wont go back to him because i just dont want to ruin the relationship i have now cause its great but yes it is possible to still love your previous boyfriend after you have been forced to move on.

The answer to both questions is yes. You will always keep you first love in a sacred place of your heart forever. Fond memories are always healthy.

Oh, and yes...you will eventually move on. Time heals all things.

There is an old saying: first love never ever dies. I believe this is true in a lot of cases. You will fall in love again, but your first love will never be forgotten and feelings of 'love' can remain. I am 57 and I still think of my first love when I was aged 18!

Yes. I had to move from Ca to Hawaii and that stopped my first love and I from seeing each other...the pain was great but I moved on, however I never forgot her...Best of luck...

You can get over them if you try....something tells me that you are still holding on to him because it is much safer than trying to put yourself out there again. It's hard, but believe me, staying stuck in this unreal relationship isn't good for you...you deserve to find happiness too. Good luck.
