If you have Tiger (OX 10.4.x) already, then go to the Apple icon in the top left, click Software Update, and follow the prompts. This will upgrade you to the latest version of Tiger (10.4.11).

To upgrade to Leopard (10.5.x) you will need to spend something closer to $150.

If you are on 10.3.x or lower, then you need to pay for an upgrade. Going direct to Leopard would probably be a good bet.

Leopard is not a Free upgrade.
It sounds like you are trying to download the newly developed iTunes that was developed for Leopard.
You will find that the use of the blue apple upper left and then choose Software Update will make sure that your machine will stay up to date with the software your machine requires.
You must use caution when downloading software and read the System Requirments and make sure that the said software is for your Operating System.

relies upon which version of 10 your wanting to enhance to and how outdated your gadget is. The minimum specs for Leopard are Mac workstation with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or quicker) processor do not concern getting MS place of work, iWork08 is a lot extra desirable. a number of your different apps could be too outdated to be modern or effectual, looking on whether you utilize them for business enterprise or college artwork. provide your outdated apps a attempt and notice if Leopard likes them.
