I think we should have an international treaty prohibiting any form of religion on the moon, or on Mars. This would guarantee that there are at least two places in the solar system where humans should be able to live together peacefully. Since religion has made absolutely no contribution to the knowledge nor to the infrastructure required for humanity to journey to distant celestial bodies, organized religion has no ethical right to spread their virulent poison off-world. Recall what the English Protestants and especially the Spanish Catholics did to the New World. I think the Moon and Mars should be protectively quarantined to prevent the spread of malignant religious superstition.
