It means total commitment to Christ.
Commitment to Christ means to take up your cross daily, giving up your hopes, dreams, possessions, even your very life if need be for the cause of Christ. Only if you willingly take up your cross may you be called His disciple (Luke 14:27). The reward is worth the price. Jesus followed His call of death to self (“Take up your cross and follow Me”) with the gift of life in Christ: "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 16:25-26).

To bear a cross for somone:
1. To share the same pain as someone else.
2. To do the difficult work for someone else.
3. That's NOT my cross to bear = that's not my problem to deal with.

The tree represents each individual as a separate entity of God. The fruit that comes from each tree is truth. Truth in our time has been skewered to fit the society we live that fits the masses. By the way the truth that matters is taught by our Father in heaven. Not by men. If interested read Ezekiel, 14; 7-11. Or read 1 Corinthians, 2; 5.

The Romans used crucifixion for capital crimes, precisely because it was so horrible. Everyone wanted to avoid it, and even today, 1700 years after it was outlawed, many still shudder at the thought of being being nailed to a cross.
But Christ taught that the Cross, the ultimate symbol of shame and humiliation, was precisely the way of salvation. This world -- whose values are power, domination and violence -- uses the cross to teach us that lack of cooperation with its values means pain and shame. But Christ teaches that the Cross is the principal means to obtain the resurrection beyond!
To carry one's cross is to act in counter-cultural ways - to work for justice, peace and reconciliation. And as everyone from King, to Gandhi to Jesus can tell you, this unpopular message sometimes means early death. The death can be literal (being put to death) or figurative -- as being abandoned by friends or losing a chance for a great career. But there are other rewards that more than compensate for anything you lose in this world.

It means to spread the gospel of Jesus and to endure the hardships that will come by so doing. Evangelism is a sacrifice of self for others good.

cross=burden
We bear his cross by taking responsibilty for the burden WE created through "our word."
"And the burden of the Lord shall you mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden;..." Jeremiah 23:36
Jesus carried the cross to show us that "man's word" (false beliefs) weighs heavily upon the trurth.
Jesus, symbolizing Truth, carries no burden. It sets us free!

It means to be a servant of others in obedience to God’s will. Taking up your cross means to love others as Jesus loved and to show compassion for others as Jesus showed compassion. Jesus says that if you are willing to lose your life in this way, you will find it.

When Jesus was alive there were no such thing as a cross. It was not Jesus idea but men, to come up with the idea of a cross.
