This is a timely and good question. Timely, in that our climate is changing, there are earthquakes all over the globe, deceivers and mockers are ubitquitous and Billy Graham finished the last major task that prepares the way for Jesus' return (read, Rev. Graham preached repentance for 77 years and retired).
Now, Thes. 1 or 2 states 'the man of lawlessness must be revealed' and that has not happened yet. The man of lawlessness is the beast and the beast gets to be world leader and make war with Christians. So that we have 3 choices: pledge allegiance to the beast, be killed or go into concentration camps (think Schindler's List). Bummer, huh.
Apparently, one of the main things God wants done with the 'god of this world' is what He did to the pharoah of egypt - He utterly humiliated him !!!! So, a great many things must be precisely fitted into place before Jesus' return.
Just as: when He was first here - the romans were in power, their big means of state murder was crucifixtion, the pharisee's and sadducee's were in power and Jesus message(s) to them threatened their way of living and seeing things - as well as their power. So, they had the romans kill Him. First, however, He was tortured and disrespected.
Thank God - He Arose !!!!

Actually, generations have waited since He made the promise to return. The second coming is imminent, that is, it could occur at any time. Nothing more in the prophetic timetable need occur. We do reasonably know that He will return before the tribulation occurs, that 7 year period of peace, then destruction. The Mideast peace talks should be cause for attention for the believer. Jesus bade us watch. Indeed, He comes like a thief in the night. Are YOU ready?

NO HUMAN BEING CARES TO DO THE MATH PROVIDED IN THE BIBLE
Most people think the math in the bible is [ like alot of it ], not correct, it will never dawn on their imperfect minds, that they are incorrect.
Man will never ask himself, how much time does Satan have? God said,"Be fruitfull and multiply and fill the earth, but no one ever ask, how much time has God allowed for this?
EXAMPLE OF TIME:
Satan has 6130 years from Eden, meanwhile the being fruitful and fill the earth is happening, 130 years belongs to day six, there is going to be a resurrection of the dead back to Abel, right? Did any one die in the 130 years of Day six? So if 130 yrs belongs to day six, and 6000 years belongs to this world that ends when the reign of Jesus begans Rev.20:1-6,12,13; no Satan
1000 years, this is 7130 years accounted for from Eden, it is not the age of the earth. Man is LOST with a promise to be SAVED, how much time involved? Heb.4:1-12;
1Thes.5:1-9,21;
To children of the light of times and seasons, Jesus does not come as a thief in the night [ to those alive at his second coming ]; All is known but day and hour and God alone is the one that knows the day and the hour, but if
the bible gives 6130 years, tell me how any can know day and hour?
At year 3460, Daniel 12:1-13 [ Michael and the time of the end, Rev.12:3,4,6-11,12; Michael, THE WORD and Satan has a short time in the time of the end,
Matt.13:37-39; 24:3,7,14,15,21,22,36-39; 25:31-34; THE WORD in the time of the end ]; Daniel gives 2520 years to Satan in the time of the end, 93 years has passed.
In 2007 after Christ the bible in circulation 396 years, if 93 years is the time of the end, how many years might be left in the time of the end. The apostles said,"Tell us when is the end of the world, and the sign of thy coming?"
The sign of thy coming Eph.2:7; 3:21; The world with Jesus is without end.
1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; Heb.9:27; 2Pet.3:13; Rev.21:1-5; All is made as new as before Eden.

Only God knows the day and the hour. He wants as many
people as possible to be prepared and ready for that day.
All the other prophecies in the Bible have come to pass so
why do you and others dismiss this one? It will happen
some day. To God, one year is like a day so He's just not
being in a hurry......why should He?

Matthew 24:3 says.. While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
now read Luke 21:7 it says...Then they questioned him, saying: “Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?
Now for the sign to look for . read 2 Timothy 3:1-5 it reads...But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2Â For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3Â having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4Â betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5Â having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6Â For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7Â always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

I am a Muslim and as you know Muslims too believe in Jesus (pbuh) as the messenger's of God. Jesus will return one day. Because he hasn't died yet. It's said in the Quran that when he was about to be killed on the cross God replaced his place with his betrayer. He was lifted to the sky and his betrayer was the one who died. Jesus will return when the end of the world is just around the corner. When this world is filled with chaos. He will lead the believers and fight the Dajjal.
Peace.
