A jack & jill is a party, that includes poker, black jack and other games to help the bride & groom pay for the wedding.

I would do it no more than three months prior to the wedding.

For ex. Wedding in June, don't do it any earlier than March.

to the person who answered the question for points, jack and jill is a coed bridal shower...

they can be held any time (according to the knot.com) from 6 months to a week before the wedding one extreme to another

3-2 months would be good :)

I've NEVER heard thats the definition of a jack and jill, it's always been co-ed bridal shower to me...and if that IS the definition...then never, you shouldnt ask people to help you pay for your wedding!

When the host(s) or hostess(es) wish to hold it. Usually, from 2 weeks to 6 weeks before the wedding.

As soon as possilbe after the engagement. Get the torture over with ASAP. Speaking as a guy, I see it like removing a bandaid. Fast, just to get it over with quickly.

Co-ed bridal shower? Man, single sex showers are painful enough...leave the poor guys to their football games...

Anyway, they should be held every Tuesday on the third year when the moon rises from above the sun at a angle perpendicular to nothing.

What the HELL is a Jack and Jill?

Isn't that a sex act involving a bucket?
