Co workers get each other gifts all the time they are usually small items depending on the relationship. Maybe if you bake you could fix her a little container samplings of your Xmas baking you know fix it up nice, tie the container with a nice bow etc. don't forget a card.

You can wait until you see what she got you, then you will have a better idea, but don't overstretch your budget, some people give without expecting anything in return, nice people understand that giving is more important than getting. Have a safe and happy season. Peace

Pig in a blanket. All you need is to roll out some biscuits, put some of the little sausages in them, roll them up, and bake until the biscuits start to turn brown. It doesn't take long, isn't very expensive, but still tastes good. If there are going to be a lot of people, or you want it a little cheaper, you can also use hot dogs. As long as it's hot, got meat and bread, people will love it.

I hate when these things happen! this year at my work im making all my coworkers homemade cookies and giving them cards. If you dont want to do that, a gift card to starbucks or a gas card are really nice and thoughtful.

Get a basket and fill it with candles, depending on how much you want to spend will determine the size of the basket, obviously if the basket is small just a few candles.(it will keep the cost down) You could do a 5 x 7 picture frame(neutral simple) and one 3" candle(white)

Don't get conned into getting her an expensive gift before she actually gives you one. To be on the safe side, get her a moderate priced box of chocolates (after she gives you the gift.)

if she is a coffee drinker, i think a starbucks mug and gift card are a good choice. and $8 mug and a $10 card show you care...but also allow you not to spend a $$$.

(even non-coffee drinkers can use this gift too of course)

The other suggestions were really good! The only other thing I might think of would be a cute tree ornament. You can never have too many.
