Because they are trying to make it seem as though it's a good thing. The illegals claim they have only come here so that they can make a better life for themselves, which may be true, but they like to gloss over the illegal part of it. If they truly wanted to make their lives the best they could, they would do whatever was necessary to become a legal citizen of the place that they claim is so much better than where they came from.

By people I assume you mean the far left liberals who claim they are for the lower and middle classes of our country, and who want to fund welfare and government aid that actually most americans below the poverty line do not qualify for. However it seems that illegal immigrants do. Also they want to do away with most of a military budget like the raptor, star wars and many other programs to help take care of our poor when in fact by doing away with these programs they are putting hundreds of thousands out of work in the military who are from the lower and middle classes. I suppose they want them to be dependant on welfare and gov. support, but wait I keep forgetting!! They won't qualify for it!!

Knowledgeable people usually recognize that there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration and identify it as such.

It's political position mostly. If you are outrage (me) by it, you use th word ILLEGAL and make sure other's notice cuz that's what you feel.
If you wanna hide it, you downplay or don't use it.
Have you heard the crap "There are no such things as illegal people!"? Ha!
In fairness, it is an issue that is hightly confused ...as in the past, immigration has been a good thing for the USA. NOW with the huge numbers and the ineqaulity, unfairness and destsructiveness caused by this, some of us are sweating blood that we resolve this pain quickly but it looks more and more to me, like our own Gov. is trying to Shanghi the American people into accepting this travesty ...weather they like it or not.
I think this could be a BIG mistake for our ILLEGALLY acting government.

some people listen to much to the stupid (not serious) media, and said they support "legal immigration", do these people know there's no legal way (other than documented relatives) to get a legal visa to immigrate to the USA at lease for Mexicans?; if u want to check on illegal immigration check on those Americans (sex offenders, felons, people not allowed even to drive here) living across the border in Mexico, not to mention all those weekend drunks and put-heads from all ages party'n there. FOR ME THAT'S ILLEGAL

Why is it when people talk about illegal ALIENS they use the word (immigrant)? they are illegal aliens. Alien to are way of life, rule of law, they cost us billions of dollars, and they bring in foreign bacterias that are ALIEN to our bodies.
