People back in the day (middle ages or earlier) used to argue when Jesus was born, died, revived, etc. They'd have meetings on the subject and come up with a date. 12-25 is a dark time of the year. All Christmas is, is an excuse to be festive and decorate with lights, good smelling things (pine, holly, cranberry, whatever's in season) because it's so cold, dark and lonely out there. The idea of Mithras as the rebirth of the invincible sun came out of this notion. December 21-25 (depending on where you live) are the darkest and longest-dark days of the year. After that time, the days get longer, the sun is brighter, and everyone can get their vitamin D again. People come up with mythologies and stories to tell future generations why things happen, such as christmas, yule, solstice, what have you. Then seasonal affective disorder is recognised, and....well...

Jesus was European? lol who told you that?
Ohhh, you mean all the paintings from HUNDREDS of years ago? Yeah, and those same people also believed the world was flat.
We don't believe that Christ was born on December 25, that's just the day we choose to celebrate it.
No, we don't celebrate the Pagan holiday of "Christmas"? lol as if pagan's would celebrate "Christ" anything! No, that's not what we celebrate, we celebrate Christ's birth.
We don't "accept" pagan symbols, we have our own symbols of what the tree means, etc. We also know who the real "Santa Claus" is, and we acknowledge such love during our own celebration of Jesus birth.
Get real here, no one is deceived except you, for believing everything except what is real.

Some Christians, quite a lot actually, don't believe that stuff at all.
Some of us actually read the Bible and study the Hebraic roots of Christianity. Wow, and some of us even read historical documents which explain the culture and idioms of the day.
I guess we're just not as vocal as the more ignorant arrogant ones who think Jesus speaks with a British accent, was born on "Christmas" etc.
You paint with an awfully wide brush.
Edited for a typo

There is a difference between Christians who do not buy into those false doctrines and those who do. Just like with the rest of society there are some who know better and some who believe anything that is put forth for them. A true Christian knows those things that you talked about are not Biblical and are not a part of who Jesus is.

christians know who Jesus is..and that he was Jewish....some artist who was European painted a picture...so what? It was not like he had Jesus pose for him.
next...Jesus most likely never celebrated his birthday as an adult..and there was no date given in the bible..although there are enough hints to calculate it.....we do not believe he was born on Christmas..that is just the day assigned to celebrate it...it is on the calendars..we do not have much control over that now..it is a tradition.
last....who said trees belonged to satan? God created them and if people want to use them, that is their business.....satan does not have a monopoly on using things of nature....santa is just a fantasy for kids, to teach them generosity and love for others.

Santa is Saint Nicholas, who said Jesus was european? Jesus is whatever we see Him as, he will appear to everyone looking as someone they can connect with. We know He wasnt born on dec 25, we cannot prove the exact date, no one can.
What does putting up a pretty tree have to do with anything?

The art of deception lies in the sleeping thought that believes that the dream that includes "death" is life.
Christ can't deceive.

I know this will be a shock to you, but people are human. They believe what they want to believe, and many beliefs are harmless. That is true of ALL humans, Christian or not.
