Let me rephrase the question. How do you get a picture small enough to put into a locket?

Often, when you have prints made at drugstore labs, they'll give you an index and they fit in some lockets.

I did that just recently. I used photoshop Element (a free program that came with one of the disc drive a bought, not the later version, but good enough for editing pictures.) I pasted the photo in shrink it down to various sizes because I don't know how big they actually turn out when printed. I ended up with a picture that has a few dozens of the original photo in smaller sizes. Then I took the edited photo to my local photo development site, such as Walgreen, Costco, Walmart etc. The picture came out in one hour for about $0.20. Then I put the locket over the various tiny pictures. Found one that fits the most. Then it was scissors time.

Lol, Ive pondered this as well. Ive never done it, but I think you could either scan the locket or trace the locket on a piece of paper then scan it. Once you have the size on your computer, you could reduce your desired photo and crop it with the outline of the locket. Print and cutout.. Goodluck-

If you have photoshop or just about any other image management program, all you need to do is reduce the Image Size.

It's good to use the Ruler so you can see what your doing. Control R in Photoshop.

Measure the locket, reduce the picture to a size that fits inside it, and have it printed.

The front "glass" is normally hinged. Just snap it open and insert a "cut to size" photograph.
