It falls down to your motives. Prayer can help in areas where you cannot. If you could have helped but chose to pray instead then that is just a way to do nothing.

Hon, Did you know that when Jesus prayed he perspired drops of blood? Praying is NOT easy. It isn`t just *SAYING* some words or *thinking* them.
It is emotional and powerful and dynamic. It is electrical and it is awesome.. The massive energy of God is beyond anything mortal man can imagine. I so wish you could experience it one time.. {:-)
Peace and God`s blessings from Texas. <><

I guess that it all depends on your beliefs....
praying is a way of manifesting your thoughts, and desires...i would think if you are praying for someone, regardless of religious or spiritual affiliation, you are sending loving and healing thoughts and energy their way....
i hope you find what it is you seek...
Blessings

God has said in the koran that he will not help us unless we help ourselves. Praying for someone is not a big help. But it's better than doing nothing at all.

No, praying is something. Before there can be action there must be thought.

If you are asking if it is alright to pray and not actually help when you can ...you are wrong. God wants us to help each other.
