Over and over we hear how the relegious rules of Islam seem to take over in every country. Now in Canada a father has killed his own daughter. Even in Canada where women are supposed to have equal rights, the women of Islam appear to be little more then house keepers, baby makers and are abused without hesitation by thier husbands. As far as I'm concerned, there should not even be a trial...just toss the father in jail and throw the key away.
If all life is supposed to be a creation of God, what's up with Islam? So the question is simple, "what should the father be sentenced to for this action?" (Please, if you are part of Islam, do not post a relegious answer. I'm looking for opinions in light of the crime based on Canadain Law).

He should be punished according to the law after a decent trial. After all we are not going to make the same mistake he made.
"Honour" killings are becoming a problem in Europe too. In some cases the murder is committed by a minor member of the family. This proves that though they do not seem to know our customs, they know the small letters in the law.
Therefore in the Netherlands (and in Germany) the law is adapted and everybody caught in planning and assisting an honour will get punished very severely as well.
I am not sure you can link this directly to Islam. It happens among Hindus in India as well.
We should pay more attention to the fact that when we allow people to immigrate from very primitive societies, this is bound to have a sociological impact.
I personally feel that in extreme cases, these people should be deported to a country that respects their rules.
Have a nice day.

Well the punishment by law should be the same as it is for this man in Islam. His punishment in Islam would be death and so should it be in Canada.

P.S. "Over and over we hear how the relegious rules of Islam seem to take over in every country. Now in Canada a father has killed his own daughter. "
Instead of making things up try to get educated. Where has Islam taken over recently? It is not part of Islam to kill your daughter. It is forbidden to murder. IF, IF, IF she had done anything wrong Islamically and she was in an Islamically run country (which none exist today btw) it is for the officials to take care with proper law and order, not a family member
Your 'question' is insulting and filled with hate and lies. I know hundreds of Muslim women and NONE of them are abused by their husbands, fathers, brothers. I also know more non Muslims and I know several of those who are in abusive relationships. As a matter of fact America and the west leads the pack in domestic violence (and every other violent crime).

As far as your 'don't post relEgious answers. We can post any answer we like and you posted this in the R&S section not the law section. You insulted Islam, our women and our men and you want to demand that we don't respond?

sorry but the way u wrote that question conveys the message that the issue IS islam. these so called'honour killings' hav nothign to do with islam, the fathers do ti all for the culture and honour thing. islam soooo strongly disagrees with these killings and beatings, the man would get the worst punishment possible. these thigns do happen in the world, but are potrayed incorrectly, and yes mostly with muslims, but i again repeat, they happen, when at the same time islam disagrees with this stuff, so insted ur all thinking these actions r fine to do in islam, its nt just in canada women hav equal rights, its the same in islam. the only thign is these muslims dont practice islam truthfully. putting islam aside, since tht is wht u say u dont wnt an answer of, it is true the father shoudl be locked up, i agree. he has no right to harm his daughter, its completey inhuman. he should be given a life sentence since its hard to think he would show any remorse for such an action to b honest. besides, he totally deserves ntohign better.

It should be tried as murder under Canadian, and classed as a "hate crime", so that the more severe penalty is imposed.

If the father is not Canadian-born, he should be deported from Canada after his sentence is finished.

btw: my answer is based on what the father did, and the reasons for doing it--not the religion of the father or the victim. I'm sure many Muslims find the crime just as horrendous. Honour killings are cultural, not religious.

Why waste taxpayers' money on the lowlife? Capitol punishment.

"the women of Islam appear to be little more then house keepers, baby makers and are abused without hesitation by thier husbands."
From the eyes of someone who obviously only sees Islam from the media. And what media is going to waste its time reporting on everyday life of people instead of the juicy, "good stuff" involving murder, terrorism, spousal abuse and violence? Good luck finding one!
Heck, it even took a while for the media to report that the student who jumped in to help Jews was a Muslim. Now, had he been on the side of those abusing the Jews, they would've had "Muslim" or "Islam" in that report so many times it'd make your head spin, lol!

He should never see the light of day again. Maybe do menial assembly tasks (in jail) making products to raise money to help campaign for human rights in third world countries who are still labouring under the yokes of superstition, tribalism, and cultural backwardness.

His cell should have no no luxuries such as books or warmth. No parole.

Medical care limited to contamination prevention.

Whoever said to 'behead him publicly' is joining the primitive douchebags in their ideology. You can see this in Tehran or Saudi. Public bloodlust and a rapid death is not justice.

A life of suffering, and some labour repayment to assist the prevention of the same thing happening to other Muslim daughters of the world is more akin to justice for the deceased.

Well law is law and we must abide by it. So if 20 year is all we can give him, if found guilty, then so be it. And I am assuming that he would get out early for good behavior.

However, I wonder if we can make one tiny little insignificant add on to the sentence. That all his meals in jail be pork or in some way cooked with pork. Sauage for breakfast with of course the fat from it getting on the eggs and toast, ham sandwiches for lunch and pork chops for dinner. Or any other meals one can think of that pig is used.

And of course should he die while in Jail that his hands be dipped in pig’s blood and a 6 pointed star be put on his chest before being buried.

That wouldn’t be asking to much would it?

The answer is obvious. He should receive the same sentence each and every one receives for the voluntary life ending surgery of their child (children) under the label of "abortion". Maybe the father can come up with a fancy name for his volunteering his daughter to die too...

I think he should be sentenced to life in prison. I am not familiar to laws in Canada but must assume they are not too far off of the ones in the US.

Actually I would support the death penalty for someone like that.
