Resistors , capacitors and inductors. These are all passive and are used in AC and DC circuits. Integrated circuit which includes many different functions are generally powered by DC but may perform functions using AC. Like amplifiers.
Big question, too little space for all of the answers. This should be a start.

the 741 is primarily a pre amp, and does not perform favourably when used as a comparator, integrator etc, as it is not designed for this purpose, when op amps were introduced to colleges some 20 years ago, time was spent instilling in students and making them aware of the 741s limitations and capabilities, if you are experimenting you would do better to use the 748, as you can choose and alter the capacitance that limits the gain bandwidth, unlike the 741 which is preset internally.
