hi
I think with some people, they can physically keep eye contact when lying, I learnt in pyschology, that alot of people will look to the left or right whilst lying, but, I have experienced someone whom was that depserate to come across truthful they looked me in the eyes the whole time and I was convinced. Unfortunately I found it was a lie as they'd confessed later on, I guess it depends on how desperate the lie is to be covered.
But to answer your question, yes and no, depends on the person entirely.

Yes that is true.
First of all, Polygraph Results (lie detector) are not admissible in all court systems. It has Been PROVEN that a well trained person can beat the polygraph machine by simply controlling his/her breathing and other techniques. Eye movement such as twitching, looking away, looking down etc are all key indicators that someone is lying, or has something to hide. I firmly believe in "eyes never lie" because I have looked into the eyes of a murderer before, and its something you never forget! Its hard to explain, but you can see the coldness or warmness in someone's eyes! To this day I can look into my wife's eyes and I can see the most peaceful and beautiful soul in the world, its so relaxing to look into her eyes.

RE:
is it true that 'the eyes never lie' ?
say if a guy is rumoured to be a flirt but he implies that he has proper feelings for a particular girl, and he drops this hint by staring at her intensely for about 4 minutes straight, and his eyes are really 'soft' - could he be majorly leading her on or could this be a reflection of how...

It is a fact that some guys will use every trick in the book to get with someone.
I believe, with enough rehearsing, most guys will have flirting down to a science. Ok, that's cool, but its the aftermath that one should always be aware of.
He could be on the level, but then he could be part of the "4-F club".
On the other hand ladies, as far as flirting goes; y'all are most effectual!

I believe this, I have had a lot of guy's in the past, who used me, and when i looked in there eyes, i knew they were lying and you we'll feel nothing. When my husband come along, i knew the first time he said it, his eyes didn't lie and i totally felt it from the gaze he gave me.

He sounds like a flirt who's a good actor.
Eyes usually are the windows to the soul..but actions speak very loudly..
Ask around..if you find out for sure that he is a flirt..don't believe his "soft" eyes..
He just wants to get in your pants...

That guy is using the old line on you, he may just be after one thing. be careful and use your insight on life choices that went wrong in your pass, learn from your pass and lets not make the same mistakes. Men can be slick, when it's something that they just want to have temporary, your eye don't lie I hope? Good luck with that one I think you just might be lead wrong with his eyes, because they do lie. just think of your pass men.

supposedly people don't make direct eye contact when they are lying but that's not a 100% effective way for telling if someone is lying.

Just cause he is looking at you does not mean that you should trust his eyes! I can look pretty intensely at a girl and just want to sleep with her. Now I believe that you can tell in matters of the heart if someone is lying to you by looking them in the eyes while talking to them by the way that they look back at you while talking, again this is not fool proof and you just have to ask and take the chance
