Hi:-)
Soccer is something that makes people weird although it is a sports game and should connect people.
It is nothing against you guys.
You watch Galatasaray- Fenerbahce match and you will see how these people treat eachother.
There are some people who don't even support for ex. Galatasaray for international matches just because they are from Besiktas,Fenerbahce...
I am sorry but the fans i don't appreciate the most are always football fans.
You watch another game like basketball,tennis... where there is competition, too but people are not like this.
I know and like that we have a lot of things in common. This is not a common feeling in Turkey. Let's say they are just ignorant fans. And unfortunately there are ignorant soccer fans in every country.
I watched the World Cup with a Brazilian friend in a country in Europe and the Brazilian friend had to hide her Brazilian flag.
I am sure you see people fighting with eachother in every country.
No worries.

Football (soccer) is not just a ball game. People use it for various reasons and objectives. One of these is to throw out your stress and furstrations. As one of my friends said, there is more 'hatred' and insult when Fenerbahce and Galatasaray play. However, I personally think more hatred and insult is shown when Turkey plays in Greece. I remember the last game played in Athens, when Turkey won 4-1. Greece was punished by UEFA.
All these are silly of course. Normally Turks do not hate Greeks like that. And I believe average Greeks like Turks. It's just some provocators using people. I have many Greek friends and I like them a lot. I like the Greek culture, cuisine, traditions etc. We have a lot in common.

Hello :),
Just think of it as two adoloscent brothers teasing and fighting :).
There is not a big "Greek hatred" in the society any more but since we have both have been the "enemy models" mutually for centruies, childish patriotism comes out during football .
Taking about football, you should hear the insults those fans use for each other in a Fenerbahce- Galatasaray ( two of the leading football teams in Turkey) game..
They can get so nasty that they can even make a 50 years old street-walker blush :))

There is no such thing as an anti-Greek feeling.Take that as some ignorant, low class, uneducated, over fanatic soccer fans. I'm a soccer fan too but I never over react like some do(both sides not just Turks).
Blunt I Run,Istanbul bogazi 'n Ipek K are right

"but i have to say much more forcefull from the Turkish side!"
I'm sorry but you are under some strange mistake. I believe you are only judging by one single video? There are certainly more Greek fanatics on youtube than there are Turkish ones, despite the fact that our population is 7 times greater than yours and thus there are more Turkish users on youtube. I occasionally come across Turks writing peaceful messages to settle the whole thing down but rarely I find Greek users on youtube promoting peace. That is why, I come to think that there is a wide hate against Turks in Greece although, Turks who have been to Greece assure me that the have not been mistreated with some "exceptions". Maybe the Internet provokes people to flame against each other and declare themselves heroes by fighting those "Mongol Turks" or "Gay Greeks" but surely, you will find no educated, sane person writing all that bullshit and wasting days over it replying another possible idiot like himself.
But it isn't just about football, I have came across Greek users on music videos as well. What the video is about is hardly an obstacle for a racist person.

Ignorant youngsters need something to hate to feel they have a personality, it seems. I would give examples from the non-Turkish users of this section, but that would be calling the devil. :P
Ignorance and hatred exist everywhere, I'm afraid. That's why we, the open-minded people, try to make our voices heard. I just wish all open-minded people did the same. The world would be a better place to live in, then.

To be honest, we do not even talk about Greece in daily life.
