when it wasn't in fact your birthday? So, why all the clatter from Christians about saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Birthday Jesus". I mean, not even educated Christians disagree that Christmas was not the time of Jesus' birth - not even close.

I think this is a debate fueled mainly by the likes of Bill O'Riley and Rush Limbaugh, two know nothing blowhards with rapidly diminishing media and political clout.

I understand your thought and agree to a point. If some one wishes to say Happy Holidays I am not offended, but likewise if someone wishes to say Merry Christmas others should let them. I have only had one person return the Merry Christmas to me even when I first engage. I believe an employee should have the right to say or return either saying or none if they so desire. You can tell them to say whatever you wish in regards to sales pitches and the like but not how they return a salutation.

Besides from Thanksgiving to New Year's are three Holidays, five if you count Hanuka and Kwanzaa. Thus Happy Holidays is appropriate.

I wouldn't be offended even if it was by birthday. A lot of people just don't celebrate birthdays. As for Christmas... it is just nice to give people some kind of greeting. Merry Christmas vs. Happy holidays, ect. Some people are offended by the religious beliefs of others, that is their problem.

We are upset about modern society trying to get rid of Jesus at all, especially during this time of year when He is celebrated about more than any other. Me, I dislike Christmas, because all of it besides Jesus' birth, and maybe sort of the presents, not too sure about the idea of St Nick, is of satanic origins. The tree, the time of year, the yule log, the image of Santa, all from satan worship.

Not at all. The only birthday celebration necessary is the one provided by the parent(s) of the child at the time of the child's birth.

No...unless it was my birthday. People usually refuse to say "Happy Birthday" on my b-day, but I really don't care...but for some reason, when it is not my birthday, people say, "Happy un-birthday, Moe!"

What is so important about a birthday?
It just means you are another year older.
Tell me how that is important.
