The thing is I'm thinking about become agnostic because I feel completly drained out. But before I officially 'change my status' I'd like to get answers to some questions that nobody has ever quite been able to give me a decent answer for, not tricked questions like 'scientists say blabla' it's more about my personal life.
I talked about it with 2 pastors, but they both almost ignored me telling me that I just have to pray more or not to worry everything was going to be fine (not true).
I'm in a foreign country right now and I don't speak the local language well enough to ask local pastors. I know this sounds wierd but is there a chat room somewhere? or even a pastor on Y!A? or just somebody who knows a lot about God and the Bible on Y!A?
Please do not refer me to ultra-conservative christians because it'll just make me even more pissed off than I am right now.

Well first, that's obviously where you're going wrong. pastors will only give you the answers you want to hear not the truth and for a price at that. If you're willing to listen and you REALLY want to know the truth that sets men free., talk to one of your local Jehovah's Witnesses you deserve to find out the truth for yourself. Don't let anyone try to stop you by telling you they don't have the truth because of the reasons they've heard. Check EVERYTHING Witnesses tell you, look in the bible and see that it's truth and then judge for yourself. Don't let your missing things like holidays stop you from getting close to God, his word and the encyclopedia tels you that these are pagan false god serving holidays.

Galations 4:8-10, it says....Nevertheless, when YOU did not know God, then it was that YOU slaved for those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now that YOU have come to know God, or rather now that YOU have come to be known by God, how is it that YOU are turning back again to the weak and beggarly elementary things and want to slave for them over again? 10 YOU are scrupulously observing days and months and seasons and years. 11 I fear for YOU, that somehow I have toiled to no purpose respecting YOU.

Ask a local Witnesses for a publication called What Does The Bible Really Teach? and you can ask all the questions you want after you look at the table of contents in the book, I guarentee there'll be something you're wanting to know right now. There's not one question that you can have as a young person that God doesn't give answers to, and theres a book or a magazine from witnesses that covers it (using your copy of the bible along with it of course).

I had a lot of questions a few years back and I talked to my aunt about them. She said that she went through the same thing as well and that talking to a pastor about questioning your faith isnt necessairly the best thing to do... You will get lot of responses like the ones you already have had.

Most "people of the cloth" preach absolute faith or eternal damnation. That has been my experience so far. They are not going to tell you it is ok to be agnostic, which it is!!

I am a university student and the best thing I did so far was take two classes- one on Buddhism (changed my life!!) and one on Islam. Talking to students majoring in religious studies was helpful as well. They were very knowledgable about "factual" questions and did not try to push their faith on me in the way that pastors and priests have done.

What sort of questions do you have? Try looking for information on the internet or at a library. I know you are in a foreign country, but perhaps you could order books online or something?

I think the best thing you can do is embrace the questions themselves and allow yourself to question your faith.

I hope this helps, good luck with your search :)

I am politically and socially liberal Christian who thinks the Bible is the completely inspired Word of God. Nowhere does the New Testament mention a person having to go to school in order to become a Pastor. According to the Word, all believers are set as a holy priesthood. I study the Bible and try to apply it in my life. I believe that it makes sense, that Jesus created reason and made sure that rationality pointed to Him. If you have any questions, I will try to give you good answers. For most questions, I can. If you want to write me further, my address is maxw@cox.net
I liked what Wadkins said. You can check out my previous answers and profile as well.

Hi Josie,
I am NOT "Ultra Conservative" and I am not a preacher or a pastor. I am a Christian and I would be glad to answer any Biblical Questions with Bible-Based answers at any time. There are a few sites that you can go to and I have a few friends who would be glad to speak with you at any time. I do not judge others and do NOT attempt to convert people to my way of thinking. I only answer questions using the Bible and attempt to always give Biblical References for those questions/answers. Drop me a note and I will respond as soon as I am able to do so. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

Well, maybe just maybe you should study the Torah .
Learn that the New Song is the covenant of promise.
Religions will not show you the things of YHWH.
They're blind and will lead the blind. Why do you think they fail on R&S. How do you exspect a reply from somebody, when they have satan beteen the ears.
Starting learning YHWH's plan for you. That you are from the tribe of Israel. Yet, the sleeper await. Your soul knows there is more than the false doctrine that is being taught.
Search the web for two sticks endtime, two witinesses endtime. Start learning the truth.

You can write to me if you want to, as long as it isn't some personal question that would be better handled by a mature sister in the faith. You can click on my profile and read my qualifications and if you think that they meet up with your standards then send me an e-mail. I'm getting ready to go to church but if you write me I'll do my best to answer your questions today.

This free online resource may help you. It will help if you have a good respect for the Sermon on the Mount.

If on the other hand, you feel that Paul's teachings of blood for sin is MORE important than the Sermon on the Mount.. then it will not help you.

But if you are in the first camp... here it is.

Try beliefnet.com

They tend to cover it all, or maybe www.thinkprogress.com

I really like Think Progress and I am atheist.

Brother Eli is a cult leader in Manila. Steer clear.
