In boxing they do that routinely after any match, and have for years. (They even do it in dog and horse racing...never could understand why ALL sports didn't do mandatory random testing, myself)

BTW...as an American who watched the fight with much interest, I would like to say that I think Mayfield only won because he could take a bunch of hits and wear out Hatton. IMHO, Hatton fought the better fight...he just let Mayfield exhaust him.

It's not unfair to mention this subject. But all fighters are tested. But there is no test for HGH, and I imagine some steroids are still undetectable. Holyfield and Hopkins seems likely candidates.

Yes he has been tested, all fighters are tested before and after a fight. and for the past year and a half, almost two years, they have also been testing for HGH. boxing used to only test before fights but ever since the infamous "black bottle" match, the one where Aaron Pryor KO'd Alexis Arguello in 1982 i believe, Pryor's trainer gave him a mysterious bottle which he later said "the bottle i mixed" which alot of people 'til this day believe it contained some sort of stimulant, regardless to say, Pryor came out fighting like he was in the first round, he wasn't tired at all it seemed like. so since than they have been tested almost immediately after fights, Fernando Vargas was tested once before he fought De La Hoya and it came out negative, after the fight he was tested again and came out positive, thats why he was suspended for one year.
