People of the Past living in the time of Jesus failed to recognize Him as judged him as He appeared with none of those signs were fullfilled literally, mentioned by Moses ,like He will come on the cloud or He will kill the enemy with the sword and will seat on throne of David ,will come from an unknown place these things made the people make a wrong judgement as lost the true spirit and meanings of the book.
Even though He came on the cloud as they misjudged Him didn`t see His true identity ,killed the enemy of the hearts of many nations later on with His teachings and made them living safe ,His message was from Unknown place to us which is from heaven not earth,,,,,,,,,,and now how these people can claim they will know him when returned? Even though He has said I shall come to you like a Theif in The Night.

As you might know ,one of the reasons which caused Jews not to believe in Jesus was that as Prophet Moses promised Messiah would come on cloud,,,,,but He didn`t mean physical one ,He meant if you judge Him wrong He would come on the cloud to you.

I tell you most sincerely that Jesus Christ will not return to this earth until we have experienced the most spine-tingling, earthshaking and colossal events since mankind has inhabited this planet! Professing Christian ministers who say, "Christ could come tonight," are so out of touch with the truths of the Bible that it is almost unbelievable!
On the other hand, as momentous events quickly spiraled, back in 1989–90, with the shocking and unexpected breakup of the former Soviet Union’s control over Eastern Europe, so the events preceding Christ’s return will likely attain a similarly swift momentum. And for those true Christians who die before Christ’s return, He really could "come tonight"—as those in the grave "know nothing" (Ecclesiastes 9:5). For none of us knows exactly how many days or years we may have left in this human existence.
In any case, remember that God Himself clearly reveals in His inspired word an entire series of events to occur before Christ’s coming. If you are willing to genuinely surrender your life to God and to let the living Christ rule your life, you may indeed become part of that "little flock" of God, part of that true Church that is taken to a place of safety on this earth during the soon-coming Great Tribulation (Revelation 12:14).
Speaking of these events, Jesus Christ commands us all: "So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:31–36).

Jesus coming in the clouds: the clouds may be a large group of people. This generation is to watch for signs of His return, most will not recognize these signs. Some will think they know who He is only to find they followed the Antichrist instead. His return is to be where he was transfigured (turned from flesh to spirit). This generation is probably the one that will see his return. That is why so many are trying so hard. Even when so many are wrong, give them credit for trying. And many people are right too.

People had no opportunity to recognize Jesus because he didn't exist. Seriously, if people who are alive today believe in Jesus, even though there's no evidence he existed, how likely to you think it is that people who lived 2,000 years ago would have ignored all of the supposed miracles that he allegedly performed right before their eyes?

Did a historical Jesus exist?

[Excerpt]

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Before saying things which you could not udnerstand, seek first the meaning of verses ..

You can see him through the clouds when He will come to judge. It is not the literal sword that He will use to evade or conqueer His enemy (satan or devil) but with the use of His teachings in the bible. He will seat as the king in the kingdom of God. Jesus will come to earth without being noticed by anybaody of us and we do not know where He came from. He will come to earth anytime of the day or night. That what it means.
