specially: in a special manner; particularly, for a particular purpose
especially: exceptionally, mainly or in particular.

"Specially" describes something that was done for a specific purpose... a birthday cake is made specially for you.

A synonym for "especially" is "particulary." The birthday cake was especially chocolate...ie. every chocolatey.
