Their are many reasons to go to war, ( look at the last 20000 years) I don't believe that there is a good reason, but I note that of the 42 wars now ongoing in the world some 40 are religious, say no more!

Genocide.
Extreme threat to a region.
Getting attacked.
Not being attacked yet but have a country declare war on you.
Protecting interests in a country that is vital to your country.
In some cases, territory exspansion.
Economical exspansion.
Helping an allie by gong to war with them.
Just cause.
Religion.
These are just some but it gives you an idea of why we have gone to war in the past. Some of them are valid reasons & some are wrong but it happens.

Invasion by another state
Invasion of one of your close allies by another state
The prevention of genocide
Peacekeeping if you're invited by the legitimate government/there's a UN mandate
I'd say those are the only good reasons.
However if you're talking realisticly countries go to war because
The other country's people aren't the right colour
The other country's people aren't the right religion
The other country has lots of oil/diamonds/food/water etc
They want more land
Not good reasons, but 90% of wars have been fought because of them.

How about your country is invaded and the people are being slaughtered or being taken over by an oppressive government and singling out and murdering all Jews, Gays, Gypsies, Handicapped etc....etc..etc... There are many many good reasons to go to war.

the war happen for many reasons and it's specially for money now we are having war for oil and at the future we are going to do wars to have fresh water
