Undoubtedly. "Proles" has been used as an abbreviation for "the proletariat" and as that means most of us, it would, indeed, be reasonable to assume that one is one.
"Prollydick" a phonetic representation of "Proletarian dictatorship", is the final form of a united labour and social quorum influencing legislation and the state control by the people.

You make a good point, in fairness.
That said, it's not just proles that don't know what proles are.
But then, that doesn't exclude proles from not knowing what proles are.

Prole - a member of the working class (not necessarily employed); "workers of the world--unite!"
A member of the proletariat.
A person who performs routine tasks in a society.
