If you leave the Catholic Church you will most probably be jumping from the frying pan to the fire.
What is that you don't like about Catholicism? Perhaps we can help. Why don't you post your doubts/questions about the Church founded by Jesus Christ?
For whatever it is worth, I would like you to know that I was born and raised Protestant. I converted to Catholicism when I was 23.
Peace and God bless!

Jesus was reviled and persecuted for what he tought and he told us that we would see the same thing in our day but to hold steadfast to the faith.....now I assume you mean you are roman catholic because catholic simply means universal church....and well you need to ask yourself if your current church family is helping you grow in your personal relationship with Jesus. If not then by all means seek out a new church family. Do talk to your priest about it though.....it's a biblical principle to honor those in authority even those you don't agree with so it would be good to let him know that you are leaving the RC tradition because you don't feel that you can grow in your faith as one. Now not forgetting what catholic means you may want to try another catholic religion such as Anglican or other churches that follow appostolic succession (which simply means that the teachings of the apostles are passed down from church leader to church leader) such as the lutheran church and its still possible to be protestant (protest those things that go against the bible) and still have a catholic faith.
anyways I would recommend attending some different churches in your area (telling them that you are visiting for now) and perhaps you will find a style of worship that is more akin to what you need to grow spiritually.

Don't stop now go all the way and turn your back on organized religion entirely and accept God and not man. Churches are made for people and not for God. A while ago I went thru a crisis of faith and thought am I really Catholic well yes I still am I believe but not in a you must be this or that sense but rather in the fact of how I love God. I was close I think to being a true atheist but I am not. I know that I love God and God loves me by no means other than faith and faith alone. Most of the teachings I still accept as true but every organized religion has Dogma and what is believed other than what is known as "GOOD". You have to be true to God and God alone in the end was my conclusion. I cannot forsake a woman as a priest or anyone as a guide to God as it made all things just as I cannot believe there to be a resistance to God's love in all things and all people and organizations. You can pray to God by yourself and you can attend any service you wish and feel comfortable with in way to God. Just remember God is in everything and give to it what is it's nature is true and not to what it has in structure, shape and form. To this end the works of God in all holy texts are troubled by the trials of those who to are seeking God and the truth is not in the book but in finding God and your own way to it. Others may aid you but you must find it.

You always have a choice, You were born with a brain in your head, and your own mind too.
You feel as though you were "created" catholic because you've lived your life in a catholic community.
If you don't really want to be a catholic, stop being a catholic. It's a hard act to perform, because it may mean breaking ties with your family, but it may give you peace of mind and help you feel more human.
I'm not telling you to renounce your faith, only telling you that you can.

hi, in simple terms people not understanding what they are talking approximately, think of they'd crap a brick on religious teachings and build their brick outhouse from there. Many theologians have many interpretations of the Bible and that's the reason we've over 30,000 church homes. LOL, in line with threat the Ho of Babylon became into Tammy Faye Baker who helped deliver on the finished destruction of the credibility of television Evangelism that became into so up and coming interior the 80's! One wager is exceptionally much as good as yet another when you consider that not something has become in 2000 years and counting, additionally the Protestants are actually not out of the canines abode on their atrocities against Catholics, witches and the lot. people fail to work out that the way the international became into perceived became into completely diverse interior the middle a while and Renaissance, there became into that "Chain of Being" philosophy and no remember if we adore in or not at present, the church and state have been strongly intertwined. technology became into trumped by using superstition. Sounds to me like what you need is more education in what it means to be Catholic. Read some books, take a Bible Study at church, enroll in RCIA, etc. Your priest ought to be able to tell you how you can learn more about what it means to be Catholic, and then you will either become more comfortable with Catholicism or you will find the strength to say, "I don't want to be this any more."

I think that you are a very special person, and GOD is calling you to be someone great. You need to really, and honestly research the history of the catholic church. Then research the Charismatic movement in the USA. I think you are being called to be a leader in that movement. GOD gave you free will. GOD did not create you or me to be a catholic, it is or choice to be or not to be.

Freedom of religion was one of the basic ideas outlined in the Bill of Rights.
Unfortunately, something tells me that your parents won't agree.

If you don't like the way you were born the first time.....try being 'born again'.
"But as many as received him (Jesus), TO THEM he gave the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe in his name, which were born.... not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God"- (John 1:12)
"Except a man be born again he cannot enter the kingdom of God" _ Jesus
