we cannot meet. Was told he will be gone for a long time. He has hesitated to share with me his home number or to call me even though I have shared mine with him. Kinda of making up an excuse not to have a cell number due to work. Indicated he is separated going thru the motions.
Should I continue to communicate with him while he is gone or is he just a player? Comments or suggestions would be appreciated

Sounds like he might be a player. Also the line: Hey baby, I'm going overseas for a military thing. I may die, lets have sex!! That is one of the oldest lines in the book. Don't fall for it.

Stay away from him for two reasons. First, I think you need to be wary of anyone that you meet like that through the personals or internet because you really don't know the person. Second, you said he has hesitated giving you his number even though you gave him yours, that should raise a flag (you can't believe everything he says, for all you know he could be married and doesn't want his wife to find out).

Take your time with this one.
It's hard to know who's a player on personals and who's genuine. Why don't you two just stay in touch by email and see how it goes, but in the meantime try to maintain as much of a social life as possible and see if there's anyone else out there for you?
In a way it sounds like he just wants to make new friends at the moment and is testing the water to see what's out there.
I hope you get it sorted out, I know exactly what you're going through.

um...I doubt he's really in the military. he could be married and thought flirting would be nice but now realises he's in too deep and doesn't know how to get out so he lied and said he was being shipped overseas.
