I have, and I was wondering if anyone knew if sudden changes in the weather affected the condition. Yesterday it was 79 degrees here and I just woke up at 5:08 in the morning and it is 39 and my arms and legs are killing me. Do you know if this is common? Does the weather affect this condition in this way?
Can't list all of the Neuro problems but they are so vast that when my Dr. told me this I just kinda said, OK add it to the list.
Just looking for help.
Thanks and Happy Holiday's ya'll

Yes, weather can definitely cause fibromyalgia to go in to a flare. In fact, I'm going thru this myself. My fibromyalgia has been messing with me a lot the past week, part of that time because the weather couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to do and then finally the last couple days my fibro acted up even more. The reason is because it is telling me we are going to get rain. It rained some yesterday and at this hour (6:17 a.m. Eastern Time) we have gotten some more rain.

If you have additional questions for me or need to talk please feel free to e-mail or IM me off site any time.

Definately yes. Those of us with Fibro can have major reactions to changes in the weather. The changes in air pressure from low to high and vice versa can bring on migraines and increase our pain. Extremes of temperature - too hot or too cold- makes our pain worse as well.

Hopefully you have an understanding doctor who is willing to work with you and find the right treatment for you.

I no longer have fibro after being a basketcase for 16 years with it. Methylcobalamin (natural vitamin b12) made a huge amount of difference when added to a backround of other vitamins. Most of my many neuro problems resolved. The weather used to affect me terribly, especially big storm systems moving in.

Fibromyalgia is these days a "garbage can diagnosis" for some physicians who are faced with patients who make urgent please for vaguely defined pain in tissue surrounding joints.

Don't be surprised that your physician put thi on the form simply to shuffle you on to another "professional" who also has no clue how to treat you.

Just look at the range of responses in this selective forum on the question of weather's implication for fibro.

Personally, it can't get cold enough for me & I've been "awarded" this diagnosis for decades now!

Perhaps the cold anasthetizes the body and soothes my dying nerves.

I am one of of the US' 49 million people who doesn't have health care so I suffer.
And, I haven't yet decided which is worse, having insurance & a physician who doesn't know/care o r not having access to the medical industry.
