Everyone who is saved does not receive the gift of tongues.
You need to read 1 Corinthians 12:1 -14:40. You do not have to have the gift of tongues to have the holy spirit. The Holy Spirit comes as soon as we are saved.
You will have to lay those hurts and insecurities down at the feet of Jesus and let Him deal with them. The problem with us humans tho is we often pick them back up, we just have to keep laying them down. Keep praying about it, and laying these hurts down, in time they will be worked out as we trust the Lord to deal with them.

When you are born again, your spirit is born again. The soul which is the seat of your emotions and will, etc. still needs to be changed. Romans 12:1&2 is your key. Submit to God. He knows your pains. Par for the course these days, my friend. Renew your mind by feasting on the Word of God. Ask the Lord to open your understanding. Ask the Lord to heal you. Do not rely on your feelings; they are untrustworthy. Rely instead on the Living word of God. Get with Christians who care for you and know how to pray. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. When you received Jesus Christ as the Son of God and your savior, God put the Holy Spirit in your spirit. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit who is the down payment for the salvation yet to come. Now the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is different. It is when the Spirit comes upon you with power for witnessing. When this happens, contrary to much teaching, there may be tongues or there may not be tongues, but there will be Jesus. The Holy Spirit always turns your gaze to Jesus. In truth the anointing is Me, says Jesus.
Now the gift of tongues is also misinterpreted. There is the tongues which the Holy Spirit indicates to pray and then he brings forth an interpretation. I have never been used that way. Yet in our private prayer closet, tongues is our spirit praying to God in a language our minds do not understand. Just ask God for all of it. He will grant it in his timing. Let me tell you about inner healing. We must be open to the truth about ourselves no matter how painful that truth is. We must forgive those who hurt us. This is crucial. God will help here. We must confess bitterness and all the things that go with it. Death wishes, anger, roots of bitterness, the whole ball of wax. WE must also confess our shames to God; the things we have done. Perhaps God will lead you to one of his servants that specializes in deliverance by the Holy Spirit. Caution here, because there are a lot of pretenders out there that can do you no good. With a servant of God you will feel very comfortable and not pressured in any way. The whole goal is to get you whole and filled with the Holy Spirit. Now that will not make us immune to temptation or the battle; it will enable us. God uses weak vessels. His strength is made strong in our weakness and brokenness. Never can we rely on our own strength to deliver, save or sanctify us. Jesus is our life. Seek his face and he will take it from there.

I don't know myself, I was told I needed to expect and believe, have faith that God would heal me, it didn't exactly happened, so I kinda gave up. But I know some people who did pray and were healed from their past, talk to your minister about it.

Dear God, I'm smart enough to know that you and your angels hate humanity. Therefore I'm going to heal my own soul and you can go to oblivion. Cause Hell certainly won't take you. Amen.
That should get rid of your first problem. For your childhood problems. See a therapist.

Ask for it straight and out loud. If God loves you and you have believed in him and his word do you think he will forsake you?
