Oliver Cromwell tried that during the English republican era and it wasn't a very popular idea.
Loads of things have been tried before, that's why history is so interesting.
Anyway, check your records. It was a Roman who forced Christmas onto the 25th December in AD 354, [1].
According to a date given by Luke the evangelist, Christ was born about June, [2].

Nope.
I love that everyone agrees it's the time of year to put loved ones before work.
I love the food.
I love wooly xmas jumpers.
I love xmas decorations.
I love getting gifts for everyone.
I love wrapping the gifts and piling them under the tree.
I love boxing day pig outs on chocolate & left overs.
I love that everyone is happy to play balderdash with me.
I love xmas!

I have no religious tendencies at all so for me it's like a giant pointless party and I LOVE it!!! :o)

ditch christmas? you mean change it back to saturnalia?

or better still the even older pagan celebrations of reaching mid winter and the lengthening of days again?

Absolutely. Along with many other superficial 'religious' traditions throughout the year. A mid-winter celebration of friendship and love to see us through the darkest days and anticipate spring would suffice.

I think anyone who keeps Christmas and isn't a Christian is being a tad hypocritical........come on you atheits out there, head down bum up and get some work done while we celebrate Christs birth.

Well, I'm all for a booze-up to enliven the gloomy mid-winter days, but it is surely time to acknowledge that it has bugger all to do with Xtianity. Why can't we go back to Yule?

No it's not.

You enjoyed Christmas when you were a child why shouldn't every other child be allowed to enjoy it.

Whether that be small children or big children

O, how I'd love to see it rot. Along with everyone's selfish desires to consume.
