Thinking of getting a new PC with Vista home Premium, can you tell me if I'll have problems installing my printer again from my old PC as software which came with it was only for XP. Lexmark printer.

Can why can you not install Norton 2007 Security on Vista and have to fork out for 360.

You CAN'T use XP drivers on Vista so, yes you will have huge problems with an 'XP only' printer = so check the Lexmark web pages and find out if a Vista driver is now (or ever will be ) available for your model. If not, you can always buy a new printer (they are cheap enough theses days).

An alternative is to purchase a new PC with XP Pro installed (some of the major brands eg. Dell still offer this option, but you have to buy from their 'small business' section).

PS General opinion is the all versions of Norton security are 'resource hogs' .. you may not worry too much if you have a top of the range machine, however when MSIE (& other apps) 'freeze' for 5 minutes at a time whilst Norton insists on doing a 'system scan' (about every 15 mins, or so it seems) you will soon be tearing your hair out ...

i have Norton 2007 and no problems running it, if it's downloaded from norton contact them and they will send you the vista version free of charge just tell them you've changed to vista

it solely depends o your printers compatabltity if it doesnt work u can look up their website for a upgraded version of drivers for Xp which sometimes works on vista tooo.

N for security vista as an OS itself is secured and the windows defender with helps and acts pretty much like ur norton.

Printer:
Look it up @ Lexmark

(if you had posted a model number I would look it up)

Norton and other programs:
Well, Norton is a rip-off, there are several free anti-virus programs that work just as well, AVG being one of them.

Vista has a "compatibility mode" you can run older programs in.

The jury is still out on Vista, I know I'm not in any hurry to adopt it at home
