Try this. As well as breathing from your abdomen (you've got that bit right) try to slightly reduce the size of breath you take in. Take in ever so slightly less than you think you need. It will take a bit of practice, but should pay dividends. Here is a site with links to classes in the technique as well as information on teaching yourself.

Ignore all the references to asthma. It's just as effective for anxiety and any breathing abnormality.

Having suffered from vestibular migraine for years. I can really appreciate when someone understands a sufferer's frustration, worry and despair. The Ultimate Vertigo Protocol is like having a real human guide you to a vertigo free life. As soon as I started to apply the method, I have noticed improvements. Now, 7 days later, it feels like living a miracle. I would highly recommend this book to I anyone with vertigo & dizziness Treats Root Cause of Dizziness?

I think you need to deal with the underlying anxiety. Why are you anxious? If you're afraid to speak to others, try finding a group that will support you in that, for example. Perhaps group therapy or Toastmasters. www.toastmasters.org. Or, if you feel afraid of crowds, go to a doctor and see if you can get medication. You can also try meditation or counseling.
