I will never join the Christian faith, or any other for that matter as I have an Individual relationship with The Supreme Being, Big Cheese, God or Allah or whatever name you choose to use.
But many Christians I speak with online promise that I will be saved if I join them and accept the things they spout as truth. My question is what exactly as a dedicated non Christian could I possibly be saved from by following Christian doctrine?
I have a relationship with my God so why is that not good enough for them to accept?

I will ask opinions of other about the things they say which I do not understand, I usually call it learning.
As for my personal relationship with God, well yes I agree I have much to learn, but I feel that that is better than being an insufferable know it all.

"Saving" only applies to Christians, other religions do not practice this concept, it is meaningless to them. As an Atheist, I do not need to be saved from your imaginary concept of "sin".

wow good question.

What is the meaning of being saved anyway. couple of points is that people attitude toward life and other is changed. We have a mind of Christ which is the image of God, This means We have the same attitude of God. Long suffering, patient, Kindness, Love and so on.

Your relation ship with God is shown by your expression in what you are doing to show the world that you are in agreement with God. Such as Preaching to persons, Teaching them Gods requirements and so on.

There is no agreement in modern Christendom, includes evangelicals, catholics, baptists. They have compromised their faith to the world, in that they are part of the world. Which Jesus said not to be part of.

You come into the picture in that by self examining are you doing what Gods commands? Are you doing what Jesus commanded, Matt 24:14 and Act 10:42 a command to preach and teach and make disciples? Are you qualified to do those things according to the bible standards in the books of Timothy?

Whew, good question, this is just a part of what a person needs to be saved, from what, well death and not existing. See, those that do with whole heartiness, will live on forever. It is not just a doctrine, it is doing Gods requirements and meeting them. hope this helps.

If price of Christians’ sins and crimes have been paid, why church is paying US$2 billions for sexual abuse of children?
Total amount paid out by the U.S. church since 1950 to more than $2 billion
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19762878/
Settlement represents Church’s largest payout in sexual abuse scandal on account of sexual abuse by catholic church.
LOS ANGELES - The nation’s largest Catholic archdiocese will settle its clergy sex abuse cases for at least $600 million, by far the largest payout in the church’s sexual abuse scandal, The Associated Press learned Saturday.
Attorneys for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the plaintiffs will release a statement Sunday morning and hold a news conference Monday, said Ray Boucher, the lead plaintiff’s attorney.
An anonymous source with knowledge of the deal placed its value at $660 million, by far the largest payout in the church’s sexual abuse scandal. The amount exceeded earlier reports from sources that the settlement would be between $600 million and $650 million — $1.2 million and $1.3 million per plaintiff.
Priests’ files would be released
Some Roman Catholic orders — the Servites, Clairites and Oblates — will be carved out of the agreement because they refused to participate, the source said. The settlement also calls for the release of confidential priest personnel files after review by a judge assigned to oversee the litigation, Boucher said.
The settlements push the total amount paid out by the U.S. church since 1950 to more than $2 billion, with about a quarter of that coming from the Los Angeles archdiocese.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the payout would be split among the insurers, the archdiocese and several Roman Catholic religious orders. A judge must sign off on the agreement.
The release of the priest documents was important to the agreement, Boucher said, because it could reveal whether archdiocesan leaders were involved in covering up for abusive priests.
“Transparency is a critical part of this and of all resolutions,” he said

If your personal relationship with GOD was satisfying you, you would not be concerning yourself with the opinions of christians. You have much to learn.

Addition: The opinions of others, especially those you say you will never join, will benefit you how exactly?

The standard dogma is that god has to save us from himself for being the way he wanted us to be in the first place. Doesn't make much sense, does it?

You will be saved from going to the lake of fire. All men are sinners and Christ Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven so that we could have eternal life in Heaven.

You can prove that you can believe anything you want to believe in. I know what you are saying about Christians, but I wonder if they ever told you what Jesus said?

John 3
17 "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

What exactly does that mean to you?
