something he could use and not too expensive and the start of gift giving...
I would get a movie gift card. Either go to the movies gift card or the one you go rent movies at. YOU know, like Blockbuster.
Get one of their popcorn box, put candy in it, that he likes, a popcorn bag to pop, and some other goodies and the Gift card of course to rent a movie of his choice.
Even a small bottle of coke to go in it!...
Get a clear or red or green wrap paper and wrap it up that way...

I am 19, my b.f. is 22. This is our first Christmas together too. I just got him a beaded necklace for $4 from the flee market at the mall, and some colgne which was like $25. Then I write him a sappy note telling him how happy I was that I get to spend Christmas with him, and he makes it that much more special.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Well something which is special and can express your love. It does not really have to be expensive.
My girl friend gave me a digital photo frame which I can never forget. It had buil-in mp3 player and when I opened the package, she played my best song. The frame had her and mine pic in it. It can always be found on my work desk. I love it ...
See this one is almost similar and very elegant...

Dont forget to buy a Memory card with it. Both should be under $100.
Otherwise you can always buy an iPod. Guys like electronics stuff. Give anything which stays with him for a long time. Chocos wont do much good.
See this iPod, its the basic one and can store a lot of songs ...

Honey, he's not into Christmas and comes from a humble home. You need to respect that as well as your wallet. I would suggest just getting something that's small that speaks from the heart and leave the money spending for another time.

How a pair of little impede? purchase a splash field or woven basket and purchase lots of their popular treats to put in... My own philosophy is that each little thing tastes extra desirable in miniature! So seem for mini variations of candies, domicile-made condiments, cheese and crackers, alcohol etc. autonomous food shops and markets are good for those. It shows you have placed various concept in too, and it is own to the tastes of the recipient. playstation . you're able to do various padding out with shredded paper/bows etc. to make it seem extra costly ;) ;)

Get a Scrabble set, write words on it that are about the two of you and link them together like in the game. When you like it, glue it down, add picture wire, and wrap it. He can put it on his wall and it will remind him of the good feelings he has about you. Or you can get a great picture of the two of you and frame it.

Get him a good Swiss Army knife. Note I said Swiss Army knife not a imitation. You can get them for around twenty dollars on up.
Best bet is the standard original which he can carry in his pocket.
Never leave home without mine.
