Windows Media Player only playing L and R surround as output?

Question

I once screwed something up.

Now whenever i try to play a movie, I will not be able to hear the voices and sounds, all I hear is background music (just like that which you'd hear from the rear surround sound outputs from a surround sound system)

So right now I'm watching ELF and I can see the guy moving his mouth, but no words are coming out yet i do hear some jingly music in the back.

something like that happened to me, I get L and R, even the back channels but not the center channel.

i downloaded the 'updated drivers' for my Audigy card from Soundblaster and lost ALL sound. The original drivers seemed to be no where to be found, so I eventually downloaded some KX drivers which run the card, but leave off the center channel.
