im stuck, I've found a really good deal on a 2002 pathfinder LE with 50k miles (I think thats it, whichever the one with leather and the wood finish is) and a 2006 xterra with 40k miles on it, and I cant decide which I like more. theres all the nice features of the pathfinder or the rugged looks and better gas mileage (and bigger engine) of the xterra. if makes a difference, I'm a 20 year old guy

totally agree with John Paul above (+1 pt. for you JP)

Nissan built the Xterra for and markets it towards us in the younger crowd while the Pathfinder is geared towards the 'older' crowd. I bought my X brand new in '00 (first year they were sold in USA) and while the new models have improved a lot since then, I still like it quite a bit. very versatile I.e. strong enough to tow my big boat & the roof rack is perfect for the kayak, + bikes get strapped on the back, camping gear all fits... 4WD w/ oversized tires for the off pavement trails.

Xterria in this case with the 4.0 liter 265 hp motor. Greater ground clearence. I think you will really like it is it 4x4? Leather and wood trim with a mountain bike in the back? hiking and camping, Towing a airstream Base camp trailer cool.
