Fist off, I'm Catholic.

The bible states that only God knows when the world will end. Do you believe that the scientists are correct or what?

It is says in the bible that nobody knows the end of the world except God, Why do you still believe the allegations of the scientist that they know the end of the world?

Well i do not believe the world will come to an end. Couple of reasons, is in the book of Isiah, it states God did not make the world for nothing. The second reason is that Jesus mainly states his kingdom will not end.

John the Baptist focused on preaching about Gods kingdom. Jesus is the King, and there will be others along with Jesus with similar privileges. So it is by that Kingdom mankind will be saved and the promise is to fulfill Gods original purpose which is to have humans live on the earth.

There is much symbolism in revelation, and what scientists theorize, may be scary, but by examining what is present, in space and so, on you see that things like planets are in the right place to protect us from devastating harm. No the world will not end. The system of coorupt human goverments and false religion will come to an end along with wicked people, they will be destoryed.

Scientists and non-scientists know when the world will come to an end. The question is _when_ they will know.

Eg. if you're murdered by being thrown off a cliff, God knows when your life will end. You also know when your life will end. It's just that God knows this long before you were thrown off; you only know while you're falling through the air.

Same goes for the end of the world.

Right...and how do we know the bible is true?

Oh wait, we don't.

Nobody knows how the world will end (and what do you mean world? human population? our planet? solar system? universe?) but some scientists may have some predictions. Like the sun eventually exploding into a red dwarf and swallowing us. We know that's going to happen, it'll just be ages down the track, who knows what will happen before then.

I think you're the one who needs to have an open mind instead of just believing the primitive stories you were told. All things considered, to me the bible does not seem like significant, real evidence of anything like some scientific predictions are.

human life can be terminated on the global scale in a variety of ways...comet, asteroid, disease, volcanic activity etc. Life on Earth is dependent on the Sun, not gawd. In 5 or 6 billion years or sun will expand into a red giant....the oceans will be boiled away and the atmosphere as well...that should just about do it save for anaerobic microbes and such...maybe they believe in gawd

Scientists actually believe a comet or asteroid will come within the closest distance ever recorded in a few years. If it swings through a "keyhole" in our atmosphere, the next time it makes it's visit could be a direct hit. Think what you want, the bible "ain't got ****" on science.

No, watch, I can make up a number lets say 5 billion years.
I am a scientist, I have a BA in science. I don't even believe myself.

Science knows the world will end,but not when.Global warming, asteroids coming at us daily, the Andromeda galaxy is on a collision course ,moving swiftly towards earth, and we will collide.or if you prefer the long term, the sun will burn out.
No scientist ever gave a date.I am Christian,I believe Jesus will save us.

My husband is a scientist (and he's Catholic) and he agrees with the theory that the world will end one day. But, according to him, it will take millions of years. So, I guess we have nothing to worry about for a while.

No. No one knows. Even Jesus said that no one knows when the end will come except for God the Father.
