No. Jesus would've been just like any other prophet and few would have believed that he was the son of God.

I seriously doubt it. The stories of Jesus' miracles were used as proof that he was divine when I was a child, and I don't doubt they still are. The idea that they were fiction was not allowed to be raised, but people occasionally tried to say that such things could be done as illusions. The answer to that was that if they were tricks, he would be evil, and we know he's the son of God, so he couldn't do anything as evil as trick people like that.

How they managed to avoid kids coming up with the obvious possibility that the stories were lies, and that it was not Jesus who was an evil trickster, but the writers of the Bible who were liars, I never did know.

The "miracle" is that so many people still believe in ancient mythology (i.e. fiction). There is absolutely no evidence that Jesus existed, never mind the "miracles."

Early on, christianity was spread through threats, torture, and murder. Even today, when they can't get away with the violence (although, some of that still goes on, just not in an organized fashion), threats are still used. Hell doesn't exist, but that doesn't stop lots of christians from trying to scare people into joining their religion.

Anything that's worth having doesn't have to be forced on anyone.

Did a historical Jesus exist?

[Excerpt]

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Sure. The Holy Spirit does just fine and I didn't see Jesus do a miracle. But there were some miracles that Jesus did that he might fulfill prophecy.

Luke 7
18 John's disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, 19 he sent them to the Lord to ask, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"

20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?' "

21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. 22 So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. 23 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."

I do not know. However, it is a big deal to us Christians that Jesus was actually performing miracles. He showed us He is God.

Yes. In fact, Jesus could have never existed and Christianity would be unchanged. Its Constintine and various Germanic pagans who made Christianity what it is today more than anything else.
