Hmm as usual you're making me think. ;) I'd say my love of George Carlin and Lewis Black would be my vicarious cynicism. I've tried to pass myself off as cynical, but my friends say I just have an ironic sense of humor.

You know, I spent all night praying. I never pray, I think it's a futile act that's reserved for the powerless. I find myself that way. There was nothing. A void. A blankness. Absolutely nothing what-so-ever. I prayed all night. I couldn't sleep and my body was in awful pain. I reached out into the void and was gratified with naught. Only toward the dawn did I think of 'death' in the abstract sense, as to what 'it' actually is. Through the night I was haunted by horrifying dreams and repeated thoughts of suicide. On death, "It is, they say, the easy way out but does that make it bad? It seems even more logical and right. Am I the only fool that sees that death is better than life?"

I'm not sure how one does cynicism vicariously. I've wondered about that ever since I first saw your nickname.

Hmmm, interesting and hard question to answer. I suppose you are asking what topic/s i am cynical about that do not affect me? Ok how about female circumcision? I am quite cynical about that practice. Or, I suppose that abortion would be another topic that i am vicariously cynical about.

My cynicism isn't vicarious at all; it is completely personal, completely mine, completely me:
Cynicism is the spark that guides
my mind and mood and mode,
illuminating with shadows the depths,
as I haunt this earthly abode.

I don't trust anyone much V.C... so how about cattle sales to the USA.
The economy of our country is smaller than any one of the USA top 100... so why is it that the Australian dollar drops when it's time to settle cattle sales with the USA?
I don't own a cow. Never have.

when i was a christian, everything i didn't like, i held jesus accountable.
i hate christmas, for example. so, i used the teachings from the bible regarding idolatry to explain away why we shouldn't have christmas, cos everyone looks at you like an ****** for not liking christmas even though it kills trees, creates debt, and mass produces garbage.
for some reason, these concepts aren't good enough to quit christmas, but, "if the bible says" then you're totally justified.
now i take all the credit.

you have to learn to own yourself and not piggy back on to others. it takes away from their vibration. kinda like stealing from them. don't you think? it's okay to learn from others, but to continuously latch onto others can be tiresome to them.
