My friend really likes this guy, ever since the stoneage. But he's recently considered himself gay. I didn't really mind because if that's this choice, then it's up to him. But my friend really likes him. What advice can I give her? Just tell her to give up? -which sounds mean- or tell her to keep trying, when she doesn't stand a chance?

Help?

We're 15, by the way.

It cant be love. Its only a crush.
At 15, we all think its love.
Be friends, very good friends. Love between good friends is enduring, lasts a lifetime.

I fell for a gay friend once...but I already knew he was gay when it happened...he was just the first guy to ever be really nice to me and respect me..from taking care of me when I was sick to shopping with me - he was the best. So it was really quite hard to get over. I'd say to try to have her spend less time with him..still be his friend, but spend more time around other people - get more exposure to other guys and such. I personally think homosexuality is not a choice ..but there is still a chance he's just experimenting..because you're so young. Even if that's the case, I think it's far too confusing of a situation for her right now and you should try to distract her with other things. She'll get over it..it'll take time..so just be a good friend - and in the meantime - hit the mall and scope out some cuties! :-)

15 is a little young and when a guy is gay, chances are he wont change his sexual preference. I have had many gay guy friends and they were always my best friends bc they never wanted to sleep with me, they just wanted to be friends and party. In all honesty I dont think this guy is going to change from gay to straight over night, next month or next year.. tell your friend that it prob will never work out between them, and you said the he just recently considered himself gay? In the back of my mind I think hes been gay alot longer then you know about and he just never told anyone.. Stay as friends.. thats they best way..

that must be so hard
tell her that sadly it'll never work out
she can't love a guy who will never look at her
there's no point in wasting time on him and there's other ppl out there

i'm sure she'll stop soon
im 15 too and if i was in that situation i'd try my best to move on and look ahead

dont tell your friend to give up.
tell her to grow up.
like forcing a straight man to love another man... you just cant.
tell her to move on with her life and love someone who can actually love her back

A good friend doesn't lie. Tell her she doesn't have a chance but gently.
