Im confused. A guy that is always asking me out, &seems to like me a great deal, said he had a question for me. He asked me If i would go w/ him to his works christmas party. I said Id request it off work and told him yes. I drove all the way to the Hyatt (an hr away). when i got there he said there were rules, 1 to be respecful of everyone and 2 hes not dancing. i was like OKAY i already know the 1st one and the 2nd i didnt ask u to dance. Then we were having a good time and I asked him an hour later why did he invite ME. (cuz it was a VERY ritzy party.) He said nonchalantly "Honestly? You were the only one available." I was like NICE. He was drunk and got even more drunk a few hours later. Everyone was heading out to the clubs and i just walked away and waved goodbye to him to go get my car from valet parking. He chased me & asked where i was going? I said Im leaving bye and turned around left. My question is why was he acting like an A***hole to me? I WASNT available the night eithr

He's acting like that because he's an A***hole. The only rule in a party is "ENJOY". He don't have the right to treat you that way. Now, you know him well.

He was acting like an A*** b/c that is what he is. He only invited you b/c he didn't know anyone else to invite, but still he should have been much nicer to you at the party. Did he even introduce you to a guy to dance with you? Clearly, he only went to the party for the free booze to get drunk on. I wouldn't accept any more invitations from him for anything.

Maybe he can't help it and is naturally an asshole.

There is a saying "In vino veritas" ... truth in wine. If he's telling you that he only asked you because you were the only one available (all the other girls he liked were not going or were going with someone else) then he doesn't like you very much.

Perhaps he's just doing it as a game ... to see if you like being treated badly (there is a saying around some guys to "treat'em mean, keep'em keen").

My suggestion to you is that you avoid the guy and let your friends know how badly he treated you ... and that everyone should know he's nasty.

Good work deciding to go.

As others have already said he's an ***.

But a bloke who asks you to be "respectful of others", you have to question who the hell he's taken to these things before...?

I'd say it was beer talk and if he's going to be like that leave him well alone also, rise above it, why shouldn't you go to a ritzy party? Don't forget we all sit down to Sh!t.

Find another "friend"

Well done to you girl... you did the right thing by leaving, you maintained your dignity and acted with class and style.

What a horrible person. Don't ever waste any of your time with him again, life is way to short to worry about hideous, game playing w**ers like that.

Good choice in leaving quickly dont know what would of happened. He also was drunk too so he had no control over his words at all. Maybe fly solo for a bit.
