Just wondering...

Former Girl: I am sorry for all the abuse you must have suffered to become such a closed minded, condemning witch but please stay out of discussions that don't concern you...
I was asking people with an opinion on the matter whi actually think... because I, unlike YOU, like to hear people's opinions...

Now Now Lady. Don't you go lumping all of us Christians together. Just because some Christians are not willing to accept evolution and believe that the earth is only about 6,000 years old, does not mean that the vast majority of us are ignorant of the facts of evolution and cannot see the truth of the evidence presented. I for one do accept evolution as reality nor does that negate my belief in the Creator. I was taught in a Catholic school and remember very well the explanation the dear nuns gave when we discussed evolution. They simply said as many people already said here that the six days mentioned in the Bible were NOT to be taken literally and that it referred to an unspecified period of time which could be billions of years. Now if those dears nuns had no problem accepting evolution, why should I. LOL.

Christians are as diveres a group of peole as exists anywhere on this earth. Some thinl & feel this some that.
The ones that make it sort of comical are the ones who take the bible literally word for word and thus deny what research has shown to be the truth about many things----theory though they may be they offer better explanation than the week that God spent putting together creation.
I am just as amused by the flat earth society which is a clever group of comedians who can explain the earth through a flatness perspective, equal in zeal to the greatest proponents of the earth is round theorists.
You see one of God's greatest gifts is humor!

Heres how i explain it.
In the bible it says god created the earth in 6 days. In the bibles original hebrew, the word for "days" was more commonly used as a term to represent a span of time. Even very large ones. I think good took 6 "evolutionary periods"
Also, if u notice, in the 1st chapter of genesis god creates man. in the second he creates Adam and Eve. So...man came first. Maybe not evolved man though.

i am not christian but i do not think the theory of Evolution discredits God.
Animals are survivalists and have no concept of right and wrong- I believe the stories about the first humans are meant to explain how free will is good but that there are consequences for wrong choices.
BTW...that FormerMuslim was never Muslim, I can guarantee you- or she would never do what she does in here. She is evil

Former Muslim girl has major issues. She lashes out so much at everyone Muslim and makes me think she must have been sexually abused and projecting her hatred of her Dad on Islam-
I'm sorry for her. She is quite pathetic
I think many people of the book understand evolution and see Adam and Eve as the beginning of Humans with knowledge of right and wrong

Depends on the christian. Believe it or not, science and christianity are not exclusive. There are crazies all over the place. People like mr. 700 club nutterball believe god planted the fossil record to test faith, the world is only 6000 years old, and evolution never happens.

Christians are flocking in large numbers to the Creation Museum newly opened in Kentucky. Check out this lovely diorama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:CreationMuseum15.png ) in the Creation Museum (http://arstechnica.com/articles/culture/ars-takes-a-field-trip-the-creation-museum.ars ) showing Eve sitting in a very sexy frock next to an over sized velociraptor.
I also love the photo of a parent boosting his child onto a saddled tricertops (http://media.arstechnica.com/news.media/400/526893292_e95eb57c10.jpg ).

God forgive me I hate that B*!@# FMGrl! She is so condescending to everyone like she knows something but if you see all her answers, they are all insults, no concern for anything but spewing hate. I don't get why she's not outta here.
Anyways..........I am catholic and I believe in evolution (not necessarily the Darwinism way) and I believe the story of the beginning in the Bible is symbolic, to guide us onto the right path.
Belief in evolution is not Heresy

Dinosaurs are mentioned in the bible and they lived beside man. There is no such thing as evolution and how can dinosaurs come from a non material matter. Evolution is the devils lies and many are being fooled.
Job 40:15-24
15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
This shows that dinosaurs lived with man and lived also after the flood. Bible is accurate and can be trusted and if you follow it you will have eternal life.

Some do, others try to rationalize a coexistence, claiming evolution was simply their god's way of working.
