First of all you need to find a quite place you feel comfortable, then sit on on the floor or cushion if needed with your legs crossed and back straight, then closed your eyes and think of nothing and focus on a distant sound eg a clock ticking and breath deeply in and out without thinking about it to much,
try doing this for 5 minutes at a time when you start out until you get used to it and then after a while you will be able to enter a meditated state within minutes without even trying.this should help with your anxiety and maybe your depression but Im not to sure.
Hope this helps mate.

i'm suffering from anxiety, depression, ocd plus i'm extremely selfconcious so i wanna find out 2. I'm going to this tai chi class for the 1st time in a couple of days and i'm hopin that will help since that's an awesome way of meditation apparantly. I'm no expert but i know the most popular meditation position: the lotus, look up on google how to do it. Also it's good to have a straight back (not leaning on a chair) and to focus on your breathing.

A quiet room with your eyes closed. Make sure that you are in a comfortable position. No outside disturbances. Put out the dog, the cat..do whatever you need to make sure that you're undisturbed for a time. If you like music, that's ok. Just make sure that it is pleasant and played so softly that you have to strain a bit to hear it. Music without lyrics is the only kind that should be played, otherwise you might be distracted.
In your mind visualize a beautiful candle. White, pale green...whatever soothing color you choose. It's completely dark except for the soft glow from the flame on your candle. Imagine in detail how that candle looks. Is it a fat one? A short one? Is it tall? Can you see the wax slowly running down it's sides?
Notice the colors in the flame. Blue at the center, to orange to yellow to soft white.
The scent. Vanilla? Fruity? Earthy perhaps?
See all the infinite details of your candle. Now, that you have the image of the candle fixed firmly in your mind's eye, do this.
Very slowly and deeply, breathe in through your nose. Feel the air as it makes it's way to your lungs. Notice how it feels as you draw the air in. This air is FILLED with peace and gentle happiness. Each time you breathe in, you are taking in these good feelings. With each exhalation, I want you to pucker your lips like you're going to blow out the candle, but DON'T blow it out. Just make the flame flicker gently. In through the nose, out through the pursed lips. Blow out softly. Every exhalation blows out the anxiety and depression to be consumed by the candle that protects your from the darkness.
Feel all the negativity leave your body. Feel it leave your toes, your feet, your legs, your fingers, hands...and so on. As the negative energies leave, you can feel the light enter you. This is the peace and happiness replacing the anxiety and depression....See yourself surrounded by the white light of protection that the candle provides. This is your shield to keep the baddies from returning...
As you do this meditation and become more comfortable with it, allow all the things that are the source of your negative emotions leave you as well....send them into the Universe to be dispersed into nothingness and let the positive Chi (energy) fill you.
This is only one meditation. There are many out there. You can also visualize a place that gives you peace. It can be a beach, the mountians..any place that gives solitude. Just imagine ALL the details of being there. The look, the feel of it. How your body would sensate the sand or leaves..the water. It's sound...the way the air feels on your skin....
I hope this helps, my dear.
Peace and Blessed Be.

sit in a QUIET place and make yourself super comfy, but u must be sitting upright. close your eyes. picture yourself being weighted down, like heavy damp sand being poured on you. u are rooted to ur spot. slowly work this feeling up through ur body until ur body has a "buzzing" feeling. let ur mind go off on its own

VERY IMPORTANT: when comming out of a meditative state, do NOT just open your eyes. slowly drift back up to a concious state, and "wake urself up". then open ur eyes

meditation is compassion. there are lot of misunderstanding about meditation. even meditation can be wrong. many people think that concentration is meditation.. but concentration is passion not compassion. compassion arises from deep love. and love is the basic background of meditation. for claming the anxiety and the stress be aware of you inner being. just aware. dont think you are the doer. whenever you think you the doer ego arises. and ego is the basic pillar of the all difficulties. take deep breath. and try to be witnesss. you are just witness. your deep breath will look after your all difficulties.. never think that you are doing all this. your inner being is the rolemaster and you are just witnesing the love and the beautiful existence.

Practise one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. See depression treatments, at ezy-build *(below) in section 2, and consult a doctor, to eliminate thyroid problems, etc. as possible contributing factors: also seek a referral to a therapist using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. It is your decision, and yours alone, as to whether to take any antidepressants offered, but, before you do, read section 1, and check medications out at www.drugs.com so you will be on the lookout for side effects, like sexual dysfunction. My strong recommendation, however, is to follow the advice of my doctor, his associate, and also Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP, and Dr. Mercola, as well, at http://www.mercola.com and avoid antidepressants (pages 2V, and 2Z refer, & antidepressant websites: page 2). The reasons why we all share the same view on this are explained in full, as you will find, if you read the whole section. All of their advice, (except prayer, because many people are not religious) I have incorporated into the "core treatments", including others as options, such as herbal remedies, Inositol, or SAMe. If you are diagnosed with clinical (major) depression, antidepressants may be necessary for a while, which will give the treatments time to become effective. The antidepressants themselves need at least several days, or even many weeks to become effective. It's a good idea to taper off them slowly, with medical advice, after several months, say, to a couple of years, at most, because they are only effective in the long term for about 30% of people. Because of this, you would be well advised to begin the treatments immediately, and maintain them. I'd just thank your mental health care provider, and pocket the prescription, trying the treatments for a few months, to see if they are sufficient for you, before considering filling it (unless clinically depressed, and having great difficulty functioning, or suicidal, in which case I'd take them). If the amount of daylight you have been exposed to recently has reduced, perhaps due to the change of seasons, see Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) in section 2, at * http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and, instead of taking 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily; replace 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements (or a teaspoonful of cod liver oil), for the winter months only! Consider having your doctor test your vitamin D levels. See anxiety treatments, at * ezy-build (below) in section 6. Set yourself a fixed limit for worrying about any particular subject, (say; 15 minutes) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to even consider that subject again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. Use the technique for reprogramming negative thoughts and internal monologue (self talk), on pages 2, and 2L, to help you in this, and consider carrying a wide rubber band in your pocket: put it on your wrist; stretch, and release, as a means of reinforcing it, and speeding up the process, re-pocketing it afterwards. Also, give the EFT version for use in public places, a good tryout, to see if it helps you (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples) . Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at * http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris also refer.
