If you religious/faith was to become outlawed to the point that practicing it would call for the death penalty would you die for it? Why?

If the above were to happen would you just give up on it and convert or become an atheist?

I would die for mine. It's to important to me, and has helped me through to much.

And if it were to become outlawed I would not convert.

Until about 10 years ago it was illegal to practice my faith in my home state.

I've lost many things (the chance for a loving family for one) because of my faith. If necessary I would be prepared to.

Yes I would die for it. I would die for it for two reasons. One is because I believe my religion to have the fullness of truth. Number 2 is that it is a Human RIGHT to be able to practice whatever one believes. I would never convert in the face of persecution. However, I would probably leave the country and find somewhere to live that is peaceful.

I am Pagan too. No, I would not die for my faith. My faith does not require for martyrs. I can appear to convert and still practice my faith in secret, as our ancestors did. Hopefully I would then be able to pass on the teachings. That would be more important to me than to die and have the teachings lost.

I would NEVER die for a religion. I am an athiest, but hear me out if you are religious, okay? In your mind no matter what anyone on the outside says you can believe whatever you want to believe. Just because they are changing your practices, doesn't mean they are changing your mind, if you believe in God (or whatever) don't you think a God (or whatever) would understand your situation? That's just my take.

6 months ago I would have said I would die. No doubt about it. But when I was in Mexico over the summer with my church, there was this exercise we did. We were in a country where Christianity was illegal, and we had to deliver Bibles to underground churches. There were "cops" walking around, asking us questions and stuff. Getting caught led to jail. Not forfeiting the illegal Bibles led to execution. I gotta say, if I'm ever faced with that decision is reality, I don't know what I'd do.

they couldn't out law my religion, or my faith, I'm too much of an inward "worshiper", they cannot outlaw thinking.... However if my religion were more "outward" I would join a resistance, not so much as to defend MY religion, so much as to defend my RIGHT, as well as others to think and belief in what they so choose. The closest religion that I "identify" with is "Christianity" however I love the beliefs of other religions, and think that there's more to religion than most make it out to be.

I would and have put my life on the line to defend my faith and eveyone elses. I will defend your right or anybody elses to practice the religion of theri choice. I don't understand the premise that people would choose which religionis to defend. The constitution states that we have freedom of religion. Those that would take this right away are anti-american traitors.
I am Pagan

I would die for a religion if it is the right one.
What is the point of dying for something, when it is not real, and when you are going to go to hell anyways?

That is why Jesus is the only path to eternal salvation and life. I would die for Jesus, because I know that if I do die, I am going somewhere 100 times better, somewhere where I will be in bliss and harmony, something that we can't get enough of here on earth.

There is only one God. There are no God(s). For all of you who believe in multiple Gods, ask yourselves this. Wont they get "jealous" of being favored? What kind of God are you if you are ranked from 1-100000? It's preposterous!

I would die. This life is nothing compared to the eternity afterwards. Id rather have a sucky life and an incredible eternity than have a comfortable life and a terrible eternity.
