be smart. dont "rent" a hall you'll blow money you cant afford to lose at this age. you can make a bday party thats not neccessarily in a hall. Your father is just another conscience directing you to take the right paths.

is your home big enough for a party there? I'm thinking a dj party would be best for you at the age of 16 or so. Maybe if you go to church you can use a church or better yet if you have farm friends with a barn, now those make good barn dancing parties. Telll him a real pretty lady in south dakota said to lighten up and be kind to his son for he is turning in to a teenager will be a man too soon. lolol

believe it or not, parents sometimes have limited funds, and perhaps he just can't afford it? tax time comes at the first of the year, and so does paying off all those birthday and xmas presents.
why not ask your parents if you can have a sleep over with a few friends and music, or just a few of your good friends over for an afternoon instead? I dont' know if this is dumb, but it's the best thing i can think of...

you must be very important. i've never celebrated the fact that i was born. it was none of my doing, really. i've never understood birthdays. the party ought to be for the mother. my mom had seven children. she shouldve had seven parties a year.
